Game unplayable slow, even in game menu

My hots program/game is laggy as hell.
Overwatch works perfectly fine, but Hots is even slow in the game menu, the whole programme works slow. And I mean unplayable slow, my normal setting are on ultra and even changing to low doesn’t affect the performance of the game.

It is even slow in the try new hero mode, so it definitely not an internet issue.
I have tried reinstalling and repair and scan, but to no use.

Please help.

Hey same thing here. Game is unbearable. Looks like lag to me, but my connection is completely fine. Game is moving in slo-mo and I made my settings the worst they could be. Tried reinstalling, scanning and fixing, even made space on my HDD in case something else was messing with it.

Overwatch and every other game works flawlessly, HOTS is unplayable. I can’t even look at the menus without eyes bleeding from the stutter. It even takes like 2-3 seconds to realize I am hovering over something else in the UI.

Hey there,

It sounds like something has corrupted the game client/settings or is otherwise interfering with the game.

First make sure you have all Driver updates for hardware and windows updates for the system.

Then look at software running on the system and temporarily disable anything not required for Windows and the game to run.

From there let’s reset all game settings to default:

  1. Click the blue bnet icon on the bnet app.
  2. Choose settings, then game settings.
  3. Click the reset in game user options button under the correct game listing.
  4. Confirm the changes and close the window.

If that doesn’t help let’s replace both the Blizzard Desktop Application and Game Client as follows:

  1. Click Options (gear symbol next to the install/update/play button)
  2. Click Show in Explorer. (leave this window open while you perform step three.)
  3. Go back to Options and select Uninstall and go through the process to remove the core files and association to the desktop application. (Skip to step for if unable to perform this uninstall)
  4. Check the opened file explorer window to see if the game folder was deleted when the game was uninstalled. If it was not, delete the folder manually.
  5. Leave the explorer window open but exit the Battle.net Desktop Application.
  6. In File Explorer, navigate to the folder where the desktop application would normally be installed. Delete that folder if it exists (usually program files x86)
  7. Type the following into the address bar (not the search bar): %APPDATA% and press enter.
  8. Delete the Bnet and blizzard folders inside the appdata folder if they exist.
  9. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with %PROGRAMDATA% %LOCALAPPDATA% and %TEMP%
  10. Empty the recycle bin.
  11. Now reinstall the app to the C: Drive.
  12. Reinstall the game client.

That should help.

Yeah that didn’t fix it.

The problem here is they have a clipboard program with all those preset responses. I really think they just copy and paste one at random.

None of this worked, I tried it on my fiance’s PC and it worked flawlessly. When I got into the game, I tried to load up even a replay and THAT lagged, also while it was downloading the version of that replay, the replay only downloaded at tops 3mb/s that stuttered as well. I am using a generic ethernet cable from my PC to the switch that my fiance’s PC is also connected to and from there it is from the switch to my router, then modem.

I noticed the game “Dead by Daylight” also has this, and I saw my ping there was around 175.

However, when I run speed tests I see my ping is 10. I am assuming this is a network issue. I Just updated drivers for my GPU and Networking card, and made sure both were 100% fresh installs.

Anything else?

Tried downloading Starcraft 2 and it downloads at 30-50+MB/s, so the internet speed is there. Also made sure SC2 ran smoothly, and it did, even while downloading SC2 in the background and on extreme settings.

I have the same issue, I tried everything the CS rep recommended, even reinstalled to a different location and no change. Guess I have to wait for the next patch and hope this problem is fixed before I can play again unfortunately.
