For those not in the know, Caldeum Complex and Neo-Stormwind (Mecha skin and Kaiju Diablo) are part of the same universe. Also, that Anduin leak from ages ago was for a Neo-Stormwind skin.
There were a couple small teasers for Deathwing in the description for the Caldeum Complex on the website, particularly with Chromie having visions of a ‘cataclysmic’ event. I know, words is words, but that seems like a very deliberate choice.
The corporate media would have you believe she uses her gang of hackers to illegally ensure her prophecies become true, but lately her work has turned dark, as if she’s seen a cataclysmic force on the horizon…
Last year, the Orphea storyline started at about this time (about ten days earlier, to be more specific). That was a through story that brought us all the way to Blizzcon for Orphea’s launch.
My theory goes that we’re about to start another storyline - this one taking place in Neo-Stormwind. Caldeum Complex was the kicking point, this Anduin skin is the next part, and it’ll continue in pieces this year. The final part of that? DEATHWING at Blizzcon, with a Kaiju skin. Sound plausible?
Deathwing is the most wanted hero in the community and to my knowledge the last time blizz released a community most wanted it was Kel’Thuzad and he had an event based around him so your theory is possible.
Not really sure how they are gonna make a hero thats supposed to be the size of a map into the size of a normal hero lmao maybe we’ll get a map that takes place on his back? lol
You just make him the same size as Alexstrasza’s Dragonqueen, but permanently. Dragonqueen works since it fits in every place on the map, but having it be permanent would still feel like the biggest character in the game.
I really hope they don’t do this. His human form is so dorky.
The hint about some terrible event coming to the Nexus is what also drive the story of Orphea and the Raven Lord: he called upon the Dark Nexus because the want to “bring order” and unite all the Realms to fight against some mysterious cataclysm that will otherwise destroy all the Nexus.
Imho, the reference in the Caldeum Complex event is just another piece in the puzzle and probably it will reach its peak at this year BlizzCon (or at last I hope that it wasn’t just cut with the game going on standby).
