I have been playing HOTS on and off for years now, never had this problem before. Played 2 days ago everything was fine. Now I am not able to log in to HOTS, battle.net starts and logged in but when launching HOTS it spins at authentication before returning ERROR: GLOBAL_PING_TIME.
i have the same problem. tho never happened to me before, but i cant seem to login now.

Same here, played an hour ago no problem now it’s dead as a dodo.
No message from blizzard, no breaking news about authentication servers down… Just can’t log in anymore.
By the way, why do we have to post on US forums about EU problems?

Temporary service issue. Blizzard is likely aware and will fix it soon. Annoying that it is on Friday evening but hopefully it is fixed in a few hours.

Blizzard is likely clueless and won’t figure out there’s anything wrong until someone comes into the office on Monday 
I was really looking forward to play some qm tonight, I’d at least expect some announcement from Blizz to let us know what the problem is and when they will fix it

Seems like I have to play good ol’ Age of Empires or something. It really appears Hots is no longer Blizzard’s priority, since most of it’s devs have left, am I right?

From twitter seems they are aware from at least one hour and working on it source: https://twitter.com/BlizzardCSEU_PL. I wouldn’t get my hopes up tho as it seems from 22:30 to 23:30 (CET time zone) there is patch planned at least what my Blizzard App states. Maybe it rushed and this is what caused the issue, or maybe it will fix the issue. Nevertheless I will check around midnight seems pointless sooner
