Constant desync error

Upon experiencing a disconnect during a game, I then tried to rejoin but couldn’t as it came up with a box saying Desync which had the option to go into options, hotkeys or to quit the game. Reset battlenet and still experiencing the error everytime I try to reconnect?

Takes me back to the home screen with a rejoin button everytime which doesn’t work. Looking back at previous forums it seems like this is a bug that has existed for at least 4 years.

Update - reset battlenet once more and wasn’t prompted with a rejoin button, assuming the game was over. However when I go to queue for a game it says “You cannot enter matchmaking while currently in a game” Yet match history in my profile says that the match finished.

There are some big problems here which need sorting out.

Hey there,

Desyncing is typically the result of packet loss. If the computer connects online via wifi we might suggest using a wired connection instead. If the problem persists while on a connection please run a winMTR test.

Once the winMTR is collected please post it here using the </> code button to ensure it's not blocked due to having URLs. It should look like this.

So here is my WinMTR, I got DCed and then got the Desync after trying to reconnect. I have a wired connection.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Thanks, mystro! Are you wired or wireless? The connection tests are showing loss between the home network and the server, but not on the home network or server which looks like there may be some wireless stability issues, or configuration issues with the connection or routing.

Hi Caterpepi,
I am wired. I am not sure what else I can do or check. Any advice?

Hey mystro,

Your last WinMTR indicates there may be issues after the connection leaves your modem and travels to the internet provider’s network. Can you run a new WinMTR to see if the results are similar?

If you can also test connecting through an alternate connection, like a mobile hotspot or even using a VPN, that may help determine if the issue is specific to your home connection or not.
