Constant 200 ping(Singapore)

Been like this ever since that last patch after the HGC cancellation. I only reported now because I was hoping it’s gonna resolve itself but apparently not. My speedtests report normal ping(around 25 ms) and the same old 5 mbps that I’ve always had.

What to do?

ps: Why was my forum history deleted? It’s like I just registered even though I’ve already posted a few times here in my 3 years of playing HOTS.

there was a forum change a while back. maybe you didnt notice? the old forum is here, but it is read only. if you had old posts you wanted to look at they may be there still.

there may be fiber problems around your region. which means that if you are still able to connect, likely it is taking a much longer route than normal. that is why.

to see where things are becoming slow…
run WinMTR to the server you play on. do this while you are playing the game normally. you should make sure that you experience the 200ms+ lag you are talking about here so that WinMTR shows this.

then go back to WinMTR save the information and paste it here. highlight all the text and press </>.

also, you will need to go into WinMTR settings and uncheck ‘resolve names’. that way you can post it without worrying about the forum link filter.

Thanks. But what’s the point of me posting all the WinMTR results if Blizzard’s tech support doesn’t even bother checking these damn forums?

It’s been 7 days since my post and they’re just relying on generous players like you to do their job for them? What the hell?

Tech support do check the forums but naturally, things are a bit slower during the holidays. It would help alot if you could post the WinMTR to see if you are indeed in an area that is impacted by cable issues or to see if there is an issue in general to your route to the server.

Since you are connecting to the Singapore, you could be impacted by the by the current SEA-ME-WE 3 cable issues. To my knowledge, this has not been fixed yet.

Look, I’m not saying I’m more important than anyone else and that I should be catered to within 24 hours of asking for help but 7 days is way too long no matter how you look at it lol

I understand completely so no worries.

How long did you run the WinMTR? Either most nodes are ignoring the request or you didn’t run it long enough for it to collect data. It needs to run at least 10 minutes to get a good idea of where the latency is occuring.

I ran it for 5 minutes last time. This time I ran it for 5 minutes, stopped then ran it again for 5+ minutes as per the instructions.
