I kinda know how Darak feels.
Thanks to experience in 2014+ year when 90% of russians were insulting ukrainians in Dota 2 because politics and discrimination of nationality

I really miss Darak, one of the best boy in this forums.
Which is why I said itās not surprising he distanced himself from HotS, assuming he spoke the truth. All we could do is say that it isnāt like that at all for us.
And it doesnāt really change how he made a huge mountain out of a molehill when it came to his wintrading thread where he ignored arguments of people because his one incident of wintrading was apparently proof that thereās apparently a huge underground wintrading business.
Darakās posting quality had been declining a lot over the months, probably as a result of degrading quality of his ingame matches.
If he were to return, Iād love it if he came back as the old glorious Darak.
he has posted many times, how bad and racist the situation for brazilian players is on the South American Server and nothing happened. The situations is most likely the same as ever. Blizzard didnāt intervened.
I could probably tell you a german Word that is absolutely disgusting and racist, that sounds funny and unproblematic as long as you donāt know the background in which this word was created and therefore canāt know the meaning. But I wonāt write anything such derogative in a public forum.
You better to NOT know how many words russians and ukrainians have for each other.
Btw, if someone still wants to join, I will leave it here.
Basically too many trolls and the classic culture of disagreeing with everything that is posted here in the forums. It is very hard to just have a normal thread like before. I just like normal conversations, and lately thatās not been happening here in almost any thread. Plus, Iāve also been stalked/harassed here in the forums by someone.
And yeah, like Hoku said, after I made that thread about wintrading and people just saying it was an excuse for me not to climb, even though there was evidence, not only from me, but lots of threads about it on reddit as well with evidence, also everyone already knows and it was proven that the top 2 GM EU players are wintraders (sure not a big deal, just the top GM got there by wintrading, but not a big deal at all right), and even Planar posted how blizzard was concerned and confirmed wintrading in the game, well, after all that it was just āan excuse for me to not climbā, I just left.
I know I have a lot of knowledge to share and I love to help/teach people about the game, but it doesnāt seem like this forum wants that at the moment, and for the sake of my mental health, I decided to stop posting here.
Anyone can still find me on Dr Loganās discord.
Take care guys!
Probably gave up on the game and the forums cause of all the trolls.
That or their accounts were banned to due the bad report system that has 0 appeal actions.
I canāt say that I blame you, it is only common sense that when something hurts more than it brings you pleasure, you stop doing it. I have learned over the years that getting the last word in, especially over the internet, is pointless. If I have already presented my argument, and someone doesnāt accept it, thatās their problem, not mine. If they believe that my lack of response is proof they āwonā, well, yay for them, have a digital cookie.
I still post here because there are still reasonable people I can discuss things with, and I still enjoy the process and challenge of explaining what I think, and why I think it. I donāt really post to be popular or liked, if that happens, I hope it is due to my being convincing and rational more than anything. If I am wrong, I can accept that, as it happens often enough, and being wrong isnāt a crime. Insisting on continuing to be wrong is stupid, but not a sin, and not something it is my job to fix.
Once I learned that I can simply not respond to people who want to use insults or labels in place of facts and reasoning, and that their ignorance is not my problem, forums in general, not just this one, became far more pleasant. I simply focus on what interests me, and share what I believe will interest others, ask for peopleās opinions and feedback, and learn what I can from those who know more than I.
Good gravy, that became far longer than I intended. But in the end, I wish you well wherever you may spend your free time, and hope that others treat you kindly in the future, and if you ever want to Tyrael for my Blaze, you know where to find me!
My work here is done.
Mwhahahahahahagahahagahah*weez ah haah ha ha.
WTāing is absolutely a concern in top 0,1% MMR and has been since the dawn of the game
(many GM1-5 have been ladder abusers doing this with each other - this was very easy to prove with the Enemy & Friend tab on Hotslogs as well - certain high rated players had only 10-20% WR against other GMās, but unfortunately Heroesprofile which is 10x more active doesnāt seem to have it)
People might think itās impossible to do in lower ranks due to the minuscule chance of running into the people you want to run in (and that might be true), but it does exist at the top.
It isnāt also a HotS only issue, itās an issue in every game where the top of the ladder is so small they practically meet each other every time they queue.
I donāt think the service is being sold though (the market is just too small when it comes to HotS) but it exists as private favors done between GMās.
Wintrading is also done at the top level in real life team sports, and some eSports tournaments, but at least in the former it is treated as a crime (match fixing).
Since itās done for betting purposes rather than grinding rank points, and knowing the winner in advance earns the insiders money.
Doing that in this game leads to no punishment or penalty at all, I doubt admins even care since there is no money on the line, just the integrity of the Grand master ladder.
Wall of text goes wuss.
Hi, I know this is technically a Necro but I didnāt want to open a new thread just for this. I tend to go off on tangents so Iāll try to keep it brief.
This is accurate, but there was more to it. Itās alright that you brought this up, I donāt usually disclose personal information but I got on my soap box one day when several posters kept using the word ācancerā as a joke throwaway line to describe anything bad. This was during the time my partner was losing the battle to cancer, so I was probably a bit oversensitive.
I stopped playing HOTS as I was not feeling good about the game. I also wasnāt feeling in a good place and so my post quality suffered and I decided it was best to take a break from the game and forums. From reading the comments here, I wasnāt alone in this, so thatās something.
This is a good example why I love this community. I have missed so many people here, even though I know none of you IRL. So many of you have been kind and welcoming to me and your considerate voices come though your words clearly.
This is to say, yes the forum has problems, but it also has many wonderful people that make it a worthwhile place to spend time. Iāve enjoyed sharing thoughts, jokes and our appreciation for HOTS, no matter how tangential it may be.
I think Iāll be posting again from time to time, but Iāll never see TL3 again. Above all I just wanted to reply with thanks to everyone who has expressed so many kind wishes, I do hope youāve all been safe and well.
*My thoughts go out to Sami, I had no idea this awful situation happened to someone who deserves only respect, heās given so much to these forums. I can empathize and I wish you well.
Iām glad youāre fine, and welcome back, from time to time!
Welcome back. I can feel a bit better knowing you are here.
Thank you Aphandra.
Dr. Logan itās so nice to see you again and Iām happy to read youāre still having fun with TLV.
Animaniacs has returned, as so has Minky. These are probably not unrelated eventsā¦
End of the previous season was prerry but gladly rest of it was good.
I wonder when I will reach 109 lvl as TLV
While this really isnāt the point of your postā¦ and not what seems to have been the breaking pointā¦ I just want to say it as I believe I have said before:
Itās okay to not enjoy the game (anymore) and fine things in life (video games or otherwise) that you enjoy to spend your time with instead.
That being said, my drunken probably incoherent thoughts aside, it is very nice to hear that it isnāt a ālife threatening/alteringā event that has caused your absence.
Hope you continue to live life as enjoyable as possible!
Iām glad to read from you. I wasnāt sure if I was too harsh with my choice of words particular since English is not my mother language.
Iām happy that you still find the time to spend with those crazy people around here.
