CDC #13 Gruul, the dragonkiller(cult)

Gruul the Dragonkiller was the gronn overlord of the ogres of Outland, ruling with an iron fist. Gruul was worshiped as a deity by the ogres of the Blade’s Edge Mountains, and his powerful sons ravaged both the Blade’s Edge Mountains and the plains of Nagrand. Gruul’s unparalleled strength and experience in battle would have posed a serious threat if he ever chose to attack the Horde/Alliance forces in Outland.

Trait: Growth - Every 3 seconds in combat generate 3 growth, Every basic attack generate 5 growth, every instance of damage taken generates 1 growth. If Gruul hits 40 Growth, he gains enraged for 12 seconds, growing 15% in size, 15% increase to attack range, and deals 15% more damage with all abilities and basic attacks.

Hurtful Strike (Q): 20 Growth - Next basic attack is instant, and deals Basic Attack Damage plus 5% of enemies maximum health. CD 3 seconds

Reverberation (W): 20 Growth - Nearby enemies become silenced for 1.5 seconds. CD 12 seconds

Ground Slam (E): 10 Growth - Deal 150 damage to enemies in an area and knock them back. CD 7 seconds.

Gronn Lord’s Grasp (R1): Passive: After a hero is hit by ground slam, they gain a stack of GLG per second, up to 5 stacks, on stack expiring heroes are slowed 20% for 2 seconds.
Activate: Press R to shatter GLG in an AoE, damage scales with stacks, 80-90-100-110-120, and detonating at 5 stacks adds another 20% movement reduction. CD 25 seconds.

Come…and die (R2): While enraged Gruul grows 25% bigger in size and attack range, and deals 25% more damage, and basic attacks deal an additional 8% of enemies maximum health.

I dont know if it’s me understanding him or not, but it looks like Gruul should have more health to DW-level(near max) like at least 2800 and that he should be a tank, having huge size and hard, slow hits.

Creativity: 2/5
Gruul is almost 1 for 1 with his boss fight. Dont be afraide to take a few more creative liberties
Reverberation could use a little something extra and Come…and die would benefit from some kind of gameplay change once you get enraged in addition to its purely statistical changes. Hurtful Strike is on the border of being pretty basic aswell. I feel like the basic abilites should get some bonus effect when your growth is maxxed out.

Cohesiveness: 3/5
Gruul feels more like a tank then a briuser but with out any way to sustain him self which makes him more of a melee assassain or atleast at the mercy of his healer. Additionally, with everything costing growth to use, Grull is gonna have a hard time actualy growing. I feel like a normal mana bar with growth as its own seprate mechanic would work better.

I didnt doc points for this but how do Gronn Lord’s Grasp stack expire?

I mean, its basically the boss fight and gruul would definitely be a threat to both dragons In the game so thats some easy theme points.
and he is technically cult related.

other stuff. A tank who also becomes a dps if you fight him for to long sounds pretty cool. I feel like that would be a good playstyle to aim for.
