Cannot play, getting Error 5:193 immediately on launch

Since the last patch I’ve been unable to play. Im my attempts at fixing I’ve gotten a few different errors “5:998”, “5:193”, and “2:-1”.

The one I’m getting currently is 5:193.

I’ve updated drivers, uninstalled both HOTS and Bnet, restarted, and I’ve scanned and repaired a few times.

EDIT* I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled again and now its giving me error 5:998.

Looking for any help.
Thanks

I’m experiencing same issues I’ve done exact same steps and first got 5:193 and then 5:998 :frowning:

Have you tried to change the region the game is connecting to, and then changing back to the region you want to play on?

You can change the region by clicking the little globe icon next to the game version dropdown in the Battle.net client.

I’ve also seen some people reporting this when having Razer Synapse installed, is that something you have installed? Or are you maybe running Windows 11? There’s a few different reports I’ve seen that could be causing it, and OneDrive is one of those things, which Windows 11 forces to be enabled.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I have tried changing the region and I don’t have Razer Synapse installed. I’m on windows 10 too

I don’t think onedrive is on this computer either.

@whitepawn any luck? You are the only other user I have seen experience this issue too

@whitepawn I was able to solve the issue for myself. I did a few things so I’m not sure what specifically fixed it but in summary:

  1. my computer was dual boot it had 2 versions of windows on 2 different drives. I unplugged one of drives so it was just single boot.

  2. I reinstalled both Bnet and heroes on a blank drive.

After doing both of those things it worked
