Hi! I’ve been trying to play HoTS for 3 days in a row now but I cannot connect to games anymore. When I find a match it starts connecting… and after like 10 seconds I get the error: A problem occurred while connecting to the game. Please try again later.
Things I’ve tried:
- Different game modes
- With or without friends
- Disabled all startup applications (and restarted PC)
- Ran the game as administrator
- I don’t have an extra antivirus program, only the default Windows firewall. Even when I disable the firewalls it doesn’t work
- Changed DNS settings of ipv4 connection to Google and back
- Added firewall exceptions
- Restarted modem and router

That sounds like a connection issue is occurring, either within the network equipment or an unstable connection with the ISP. There’s two ways to go about troubleshooting that.
The first is to use a wired connection if not already. We can take that one step further with bypassing the router and plugging directly into the modem to see if that helps. If so, then it may be a problem with the router that requires checking settings like Quality of Service or the firewall. A firmware update or replacement may even be needed. Chatting with your ISP or the device manufacturer is advised for all this.
The other idea is to change out the connection and network used entirely. You can use a friend’s or neighbor’s connection or if your phone and phone plan support it, a hotspot or tether can also be used for testing purposes.
