*Canadian Bell Users* - High Latency

Hi,

My friends and myself are having trouble with high latency as of late. Following a trace IP command, our ISP isn’t connecting to this Blizzard server: 208.115.136.85
and reroutes the connection to Hong Kong to send it back to the Central US server (or West, tried both).

Another pal with a different ISP connects flawlessly, so I’m wondering if there are Canadian gamers experiencing the same issue. I’m gonna try the same thing with other Blizz services, see if it’s limited to HotS.

My ISP is useless as ever, so I’m checking to make sure the problem isn’t with that Blizz access point.

I saw a twitter post from Blizzard CS yesterday regarding this. They’re aware. It’s not fixed yet I guess. This is like the 3rd or 4th time it’s happened to Canadians using Bell/MTS in the last 12 months. REally annoying.

I have problems with Bell as well. I’m seriously considering dropping them as a provider because their service, customer service, and overall care as a company is pathetic.

I remember in November 2018, there was a similar thread about Bell and connectivity issues in all blizzard games. It’s been about 3 months and here we are again.

My phone’s mobile hotspot is a more stable connection than Bell, and that’s pretty sad imo.

that was on Feb 7 they said it was resolved. So if there is still an issue make sure to let them know.

yea, I just dropped Bell as a provider today.

Moved to Fido, provided by Rogers.

Only difference is +10 ms, (when the old connection worked, it was about 58ms, new is 68) 0 drops, disconnects, or stutters. The tech who helped me set it up was also very kinda.

I strongly suggest dropping Bell as a provider, despite hating both Bell and Rogers, at least Rogers delivers on the services they were retained to provide.
When you drop Bell, go anywhere else, that company is terrible.
