Can this endless losing streak please stop already?

Out of the past 15 games played I have won 1 of them.

Out of the past 50 games played (My entire latest match history over the past week). I have won 13.

Can matchmaking give me some fair games please? Like this tilt is too much for me to handle. I took a 12 hour break today after losing another 3 in a row and I continue to lose. No matter what hero I play I lose. The games most of the time aren’t even close either. It’s just a hard unfun waste of time lose.

It cannot only be me at fault here. Cause I am looking at my scoreboards where our Zeratul dies 8 times with 0 kills 0 assists and 6k damage 15minutes into the game. Meanwhile the next game the enemy has a Zeatul teleporting all over the place shredding everyone on my team. I look at and see myself with lowest deaths (typically 2 or lower), and everyone else with 6+.

Can I please get some mercy from the game matchmaker for once? Close to giving up the hope of having fun in this game again with this nonstop hard lose streak.

what mode is it, qm ? ranked ?

it’s gonna go for sure don’t worry

It’s qm, ranked and brawl. I cannot win in any gamemode I play.

Play AI.

No seriously, sometimes the biggest issue is giving yourself room to breathe so you can play your hero. Sometimes you need success to get your mind in the state where you can win.

I really do not want to have to play AI just to get a win. The AI is such a non-challenge now it would only make me feel worse knowing the only way I can actually score a victory is playing against them.

Take a loooooong break. At least a few days. Maybe longer. Give yourself a full reset. Maybe go into quick match and try a completly new character.

Yep, blame everything on the matchmaker and your team. That’ll make you win games.

Clearly is the matchmaker when the game i’m currently in has 4 AA heroes on my team vs Lili, Johanna, Cassia (3 blinds), Zeratul + Abathur on the enemy.

Edit: And I just lost that too. Fun.

QM or ranked?

Care to share a screenshot for the heck of it?

Also there’s always RNG. It’s not against you. It doesn’t play favourites.

However, I bet when you see something like that matchup, or even just a minor counter, you play less seriously and start to halfass it.

I mean this thread is a perfect example. You’re on the forum in the middle of a match. No wonder you lose more than others.

Edit: if yyou want my real advice on how to win more frequently, stop caring about compositions, always play seriously, and don’t flame anybody for any reason and ignore others who would try to flame you. it’s just unnecessary distraction.

There’s a reason some people, like me, don’t have “Losing streak” problems. At times I’ve had winning streaks of up to 13-14 while solo queueing in QM.

ok don’t take brawl into account

for qm it’s kinda the same, you can’t really take it into account because of its randomness but if you do lose constantly in QM (like 20+ games) maybe it’s time for you to analyze your plays. There are 2 big lines in HotS and so for improvement :

  • the micro play : your hero, skillshots, positioning, awareness of your teamates and enemies abilities
  • the macro play : map game, obj, camps, lane pressure (push, depush, split-push), time for everything

watch closely these things and see how or what you can improve or have an impact on in your games

for ranked, draft according to the map (macro play) and your teamates synergies, counter-pick enemy heroes.
Then in-game, pay attention to your teamates as much as your enemies, remember that you need to make the team wins if you want to win, you can do it more with a solo impact if you are in low ranks but as you will rise in ranks, the more team play will be required

Finally, if you’re burned out, just pick whatever and play whatever till it passes, you can do that if you’re not in the positive mood to focus/try, just keep picking something that makes sense to you and that you’re gonna enjoy playing, and remember to always try, at least. You can do this until your mood changes following some kind of new ideas during games and/or a swap from the loss streak to more wins

or you can just take a break from the game entirely, come back when you feel renewed (30 mins, 1 day, 1 week, whatever)

you can also start playing a totally new hero in QM to change your mind, and it will give you new ideas for sure, it can definitely act as a renewal

you get bad teamates, so does everyone else. Remember that it is a team game, you’re not alone on the map, so remember to pay attention to your teamates, and try to get the best out of what they can bring, regardless of their skill level

Mostly qm lately cause i’m too tilted to play ranked now.

Can you blame me for not having much hope for a match when the entire enemy team counters ours? I generally don’t care about matchups but when I see that all of our damage is 4 auto attack + Alexstrasza vs a 3 blind + abathur zeratul team, I already know what i’m in for.

@Varag I have tried playing a multitude of new heroes, and taken breaks from playing. Nothing changes for me. And I know it’s a team game. I soak what I can, I teamfight when needed. But it isn’t making any difference.

People are giving you some good advice, but no guarantees that it will work. If possible play heroes that can Macro efficiently, or get kills alone (if you have good mechanics).

I just find it a little ironic that I’ve seen someone on the enemy team named Player for Fan’s Bronze to GM challenge he started a few days ago. I’m sure it’s a common name though, and I think one game they were on Fan’s team.

Well, you aren’t saying that literally every single match in your losing streak has been against super tryhard teams (it kinda sounded like a 5man tryhard team to me) that also coincidentally was a massive counter?

I can get behind that it’s rather frustrating getting against a tryhard team that also counters you, but that’s qm rng for you. Live and let go.

I don’t know if its a tryhard team or not. I’m alt tabbed watching videos as I wait for the match to load everyone in.

All I know is my games feel super stacked vs me and don’t feel fair at all lately. I thought mm is meant to try and find fair games for you.

@Jace

Player is a common name, it’s for people who had their bnet tags force removed by blizzard. I haven’t really bothered to change mine to a new one since it got done.

Ah, that makes sense. Learned something new, thanks.

It is normal friend in this game that is normal, because simply to win a game you not only depend on your individual ability you depend on your allies and how good they are also on their criteria and common sense in the game. In the game there are many factors beyond your control that will decide if you lose or win a game, such as: The composition of your team (although this can be variable), trolls feeders and those that disconnect, if one disconnects in your team with the bad Ai of the game is almost 100% sure defeat also the heroes ops you have against.

The MM isn’t against anyone in particular, although in a roundabout way, it could be.

QM has a “Buddy-mentor” matchmaker that puts together high MMR with low MMR on both sides to create an ‘equal’ match. So let’s say that you’re diamond 3 in QM’s mmr ranking.

it could then put you together with a bronze and a few gold-platinums. Meanwhile, the enemy team also has a diamond 3, a bronze and a gold-platinums.

While ‘technically’ fair, what the bronzies are playing can tilt the favour of the match. Like having the healer on your team be a clueless bronze while the enemy bronze is 1 of the 3 assassins on their team. Or some zagara who just has to push to get some value while your team doesn’t have anyone good at ganking her.

This comes down to RNG again though.

But what I could imagine is that, if you had some bad luck in your first couple of losses, that you got tilted and as a result play worse than you usually do, start flaming more than you usually do or start getting into arguments with another flamer in the match, or something.

There could be a myriad of reasons. Also, it is the weekend, and the weekends are known as resulting in lower quality matches, as the players who have way less time on their hands in their life, can finally play a little. Common thing for players to do is to not play ranked during the weekends.

My overall point is that the matchmaker isn’t against anyone in particular.
If anything, you may have had a streak of insanely bad luck worthy of a gypsy curse.
But in my eyes, it is also possible that you may have had something to do with it, by tilting and what not.

I mean, I see these types of players occasionally in games – the types that start flaming or calling gg within the first 3 minutes for some silly reasons.
Or they start semi-afking or go “Screw it, I’m just gonna splitpush all day because I’m mad at this Anduin who failed to heal me”

These players lose games more frequently than others, not because of a difference in skill, but because of a difference in mental fortitude and a tendency to start flinging poo when things doesn’t go their way, since they also cause their team to play less seriously and be too occupied with flaming eachother.

People like this also has a sort of landslide effect. One guy who goes GG at 3 minutes and flames the Tracer and another player who is a similar type starts semi afking since he feels that he can start afking for justified reasons because another guy is doing it. Or he easily takes the bait and starts a flamewar.

I don’t gg at 3 minutes. But yeah my tilt is no doubt not helping. But i’ve been tilted the whole week not just the weekend. I work all day to come back and try to have some fun, just to lose all my matches again.

Also just lost another one that lasted 30 minutes, still yet to break the streak. Gypsy curse for sure or something.

My winrate has went down from 54% since this started to exactly 50.0% now. Feelsawesome.

I’ve never lost 14 games in a row, but when I’ve been on a losing streak I’ve found the best way to break it is to log off or switch to a different game mode, usually a brawl.

If I have lose QM streak, I usually wait 5-10 before queueing to avoid get matched with previous pepega teammates.
