So when you’re in draft and you need pure wave clear, what do you guys pick?
For me it is almost always Gul’dan, Greymane or Sylvanas. Very different heroes but their wave and merc clear is just so quick. Aside from a fully stacked tide of sin Azmodan of course. And they fit into a lot of team comps.
Blaze. He can clear, he can off-tank, and he is very hard to gank if he is in a lane by himself.
I find that Valla and Valeera have excellent waveclear ability. Their AoE is strong and their mobility lets them stay focused on a tower until the very last second.

Healer : Reghar
Bruiser: Xul

jaina is #1 no contest since right from level 1 she easily has the best wave clear available aside from xul. then when you consider everything else that makes her the best.
late game is a bit different story as heroes like azmo and rag can one shot lanes in their own way.
Best? Gul’dan I guess.
I think Orphea or Junkrat.
Junkrat’s Basic Attacks splash, and his Frag Launcher can dish out some nice AOE as well.
Orphea with, well, all of her abilities, Shadow Waltz can be used for waveclear, but I don’t recommend it, Dread can hit the whole wave and 1-shot the Ranged Minions later on, and Chomp can kill the Melee ones.
Leoric or Chen for me. Both of them can with a talent or two (which are talents you want to take anyways) clear lanes super fast, and are also good in team fights.
Depends if we are considering late game or not.
Still, I would say Jaina, Guldan, Xul, Probius, Leoric and even Ragnaros.
I find stukov also being quite well capable of waveclearing.
And if enemies are nearby, auriel is quite effective at waveclearing while the fight is going on (sure, its slower, but at least you deal relaible damage while waveclearing). Although this might not always be the ideal thing to do.
(and with that, if medivh is decent at hitting Q on heroes. He can also do the job together with that. But thats easier to counter for the enemy by positioning)
For Valla I go a full Hatred build, taking W tallents only when there’s no hatred improving options.
Open with W and use hatred empowered basic attacks to finish off the stranglers. It clears the waves quickly and lets you keep your hatred full to deal with any heroes that want to stray into your lane.
I think Reghar is a bit better because he can also do a strong single target dmg to the catapults. Auriel is also really good but Regh can double soak if needed. Yes we all know a team always stays in a fight xD
Maybe the safest reliable waveclear as a support is alex because of her range. Or regh if he puts totem and W on it
Medivh on 20 is good at waveclear, but I think people who rely on 20 are a bit to late. Hitting heroes can work but only if there is a hero dumb enough to keep standing in the wave
Before level 20, if he hits heroes, it doesnt cost mana, and he can spam arcane each 2 seconds (or 1 second if the quest is completed). Sure, it can take 3 hits on minions, but thats still quickly enough (slightly above 4 seconds) when a fight is going on anyway.
I wasnt talking about his post 20 state, as at that point there are a lot of heroes that can do this task anyway.

Xul with full w build. He can melt any minions merc and even whole zerg wave on braxis INSANELY fast.Just need lvl 4 for cd reduction.
He also is semi unique in that he does like all but healer role. Can sami tank and has cc while his dmg is ok (insane if enemy is clumped up).Can take camps and the like.
Depends which class you,re missing. Sylvanas doesn’t have as much Waveclear as she used to.
But Malthael, Fenix, Dehaka, Xul, Gul Dan, Valla, Junkrat, Orphea, Probius, Gazlowe, Zera, and Reghar all have good waveclear. With Fenix and Junkrat not requiring any mana.
Rehgar with blood and thunder W build can clear waves like nobody’s business. Two lightning shields. CDR and burst up the wazoo. Once he gets to 16 rehgar can solo a bruiser camp faster than most assassins. The exceptions being a w build jaina, w build probius, greymane, etc.
Yeah he is insane! Also love that you dont have to worry about mana with the shield build
