As a Healer, what is the most annoying teammate ability?

When playing as a healer: What, in your opinion, is the singular most annoying ability a teammate could use?

I pick Artanis’ Blade Dash.

Nothing jukes a heal quite like a perfectly-timed blade dash:

  • Anduin’s Divine Star misses.
  • Uther’s Holy Radiance misses.
  • Kharazim’s Breath of Heaven misses.
  • Li Li’s Jug of 1,000 Cups becomes a Jug of 500 Cups and her Mistweaver becomes a Missed Weaver.
  • Morales’ Healing Beam and Whitemane’s Clemency will both get broken.
  • Alexstrasza’s Abundance won’t be returned to if Artantis godswaps, and a Cleansing Flame charge could get juked.
  • Auriel could whiff her Ray of Heaven (which really hurts my soul), and if Artanis dashes behind a wall and dies then forget about using Resurrect.
  • Stukov’s Healing Pathogen might not be allowed to spread if Artanis godswaps.
  • Lúcio’s Amp It Up and Sound Barrier could both be unfortunately-timed such that they have little or no effect for Artanis, and High Five could put you in a bad spot.
  • Brightwing’s Blink Heal could also put her in a bad spot if poorly-timed, and I’ve lost track of how many times using Phase Shift on Artanis put me behind a wall. :frowning:
  • Ana doesn’t need any help missing her Healing Dart (Carbot even animated that particular scenario) but the same goes for Biotic Grenade and Eye of Horus.

Heck, it would’ve been easier for me to list the healers that are relatively unaffected by Artanis’ Blade Dash: Tyrande, Malfurion, Deckard Cain and Rehgar.

Also, a shout-out to the Support-types. They all seem to actually synergize well with Artanis in general: Abathur with the infinite-range shields/heals/attack speed, Medivh with the “Let me fix your mistake.” Force of Will/Portal/Ley Line Seal, and Zarya with the " Actually, I want you to take damage." extra shielding. :stuck_out_tongue:

Getting back on topic though: What ally ability annoys you the most when you’re the healer?

lifetap or amani active.

There’s the right way to use those, and then there’s the “I’m killing myself more than the damage i deal” sort.

People not canceling their recall after ive healed them back to full

Not a specific skill but a mindset. Using cooldowns/last of mana only for teammates to rush right back into the mess that they were pulled out of to eat a respawn timer anyways.

Inappropriate use of Right-Click. :stuck_out_tongue:

As Ana, teammates purposefully moving in curved directions (unless trying to escape a fight) is really annoying and even worse when said teammates say “bad Ana for missing”. Also remember when EoH could hit only one hero per shot? Idek why was it ever picked before the rework
(Diablo’s charge is also sometimes annoying when trying to heal)

Any mobility ability. Because you just know they’re going to dive right back into danger and die.

Obviously it’s the chat ability starting with the Enter key followed by the text “0 heals”.

naw, some of them use their mobility to dodge healing.

anduin you dont need to save them I’ve got it they’re good
genji… just… no

Qhira is an odd one like yes she’d be fine but I’d feel better if I could put a zeal on her before she swirls round the chandelier

Ana players knows this nightmare too much.

Yeah. This phenomena in particular.

You really get a look into just how tunnel-visioned your teammates are when they are hearthing with full mana and you’re healing them.

Sometimes when I play Morales, I see this tunnel vision go one step further: Team mate says “mana” Okay sure, go hearth. I use medivac reinforcements “taxi for you,” and on the minimap you see your teammate run right past the medivac.

This is all fine and well, I suppose. You can’t expect to control peoples’ behavior. But it does confuse me when they run right back over to you instead going for a camp or whatever.

It’s like they hit the B button and then immediately look away from their monitor. Must be on reddit I guess.

The average “Healing a Tracer” experience is akin to trying to catch your cat while they have the zoomies.

I am lucky in that respect I have a tracer main that often plays with me
I go Ana and see how many times I can heal 'em and how many times he stands still for healing

unfortunately the results have been inconclusive as it’s a strict 50/50 split when playing occasionally a 55/45 against me

So much this.

But even if you haven’t healed them to full. They’ve managed to avoid getting hit long enough to hearth, somehow think they’re so in danger that the healer will be so burdened or unable to heal in the time it will take for heal up at base and run all the way back, while now leaving the healer exposed or team undermanned.

It’s better now, but I didn’t mind it that much especially with the level 20 AOE. In some ways I preferred it because of the reduced cooldown and increased power.

The biggest annoyance healing as Ana is mostly those people who fall back for healing and instead of running in the line of sight to get pierced, they run to the side or sometimes even behind you, which screws up targeting and would force me to ignore the front line that is taking heat.

Yeah. I never expect people to know my healing darts can pierce. I do, however, expect them to understand they’re forcing me to pick targets when they run directly behind me. “You better be retreating, because the healing is over here.” And to peoples’ credit, most of them do, but some of them…

Yeah that’s valid. Tbf I didn’t play much Ana before the rework (now she’s my main) so I didn’t really test out the old heroic upgrade for EoH, I usually went for Somnolent Doses.

THIS ^^^
This also happened when I heal two teammates at once, but the one closer to Ana just actively disrupts the perfect positioning even though the teamfight wasn’t happening yet.

Haha, I think the best part about it was that if enemy melee and allies clumped around you, you could actually tank a little because the explosion would heal you too. It’s pretty funny when bruisers think they’ve closed the distance on you and you’re just blasting at them point blank while healing yourself.

Deadeye is semi fun, but difficult to line up the shots where it has real value. Wished they’d give you like one extra shot, or maybe something like LiLi where if you cancel with shots left over, you get some reduced CD.

But yeah, I love Ana. The idea of a one eyed Egyptian grandmother sniper with that gravelly voice is just so iconic. She plays pretty well within that lore too, but to make some of her design a little less clunky requires more than just number tweaks.

Interesting. Now I kinda wish it was back in some way.

I agree. She’s one of the best heroes to be added to the game. Still surprised she’s the only post-launch OW hero to be ever added to the game.

Honestly the only issue I can think of about her kit is the passive effect of shrike. In most situations, it’s quite contradictory to how Ana should be played, but it does feel nice to have some out of combat self-heal.

But did you heal my mana back to full? Hmmmmm?
