The update has been out for a while now. Have you tried restarting your phone and reinstalling the game on your phone if that fails yet? If even that doesn’t work, you should also clear your application cache for Hearthstone.
I have done a phone restart and a cache clear, you can understand my hesitation on simply re-downloading a game that is over 3GB. Is that blizzards only solution, do you know for a fact that that will work? I would hate to waste the time not to mention data that would take only to have it fail

I understand the hesitance if you are on limited data. Is there not an internet connection in your household that you can connect to for the download, or are you only able to use your mobile data for this? Unfortunately with troubleshooting we can never be 100% certain of the cause for an error, but if you’ve already done the other two fixes, the reinstall is usually the best bet to fix things.
But you can tell conditions for this error to be shown and the way to find out an exact version of the installed game, right…?
The wording of the error message implies that recently used game version is stored on the account server so you can check it to see if it is not screwed somehow. If you see “18.0.2.56359” on server but “18.0.0.54613” on device - reinstall has meaning. If the server shows something like “1562.0087.2319” - error is on the server’s side.
There are plenty of reasons to reinstall the game other than just a version mismatch, though that is of course one good reason to do so (after attempting to manually update.) However, the rest of your message has nothing to do with this issue, and we aren’t getting enough reports of this problem to assume there’s a bug of any kind - server or otherwise. Most likely it’s a game data or caching issue, which is why I’ve recommended the troubleshooting that I recommended.
I have the same issue since new update from play store , keeps telling me same thing and can’t login , it’s definitely a problem from blizzard fix it please
