You made people apprehensive about new content

People are so apprehensive about new content, they have lost trust that you can actually deliver something that is fun, balanced and doesn’t try to nickel and dime players. The excitement you see in other games about expansions is missing.

This is on you, you are very inconsistent as a developer. It’s kind of like those people all excited about buying a Tesla, only to find out they burst into flames and burn their house down.

People no longer believe you can deliver.

They have under delivered and misrepresented so many times that they player base has little reason to trust or believe anything they say.

And yet, those same people still buy the new content. Sure, they don’t buy it with a smile on their face, but hey, they’re buying it. And for Blizzard, it’s more than enough.

Soo umm do you guys have any facts to back up those claims, or are you just spouting your nonsense based on your personal opinion??

They always are… At first.

People wonder why there isn’t more activity on here, when this is the place they go to be sticks in the mud…

I apologize for being the voice of down, but it’s true that players are always excited until they actually play with the cards and then the complaints come in like the tide.
I’ll bet money We will see at least three different players swearing this is the worst meta ever and that the game has never been more busted.
How can I be so confident? Easy. It happens every expansion.
Nothing ever really changes in this game.
The patterns of card release and the reactions to them are the same as they were seven years ago.
Team 5 prints purposely overpowered cards for sales, then everyone screams.
Team 5 neuters the cards, then everyone cries about staleness.

Two dozen people whining about the game doesn’t speak to anything other than that forums are a place to vent.

Also despite the amount of venting these people still play the game. Despite how much they think Team 5 is bad or biased, they still play their game. Despite how much they think the game is rigged, they still play the game.

Maybe the problem isn’t the dev team.

Who is “people?” It isn’t me.

Garbage hyperbole.

DH was a horrible roll out with the power level.

An how many countless nerfs did they have to roll out right after a new set?

This is why they don’t bother visiting the forums anymore.

No understanding, no constructive comments.

Brutal, unhelpful criticism and conspiracy theories.

I expect:
1)the same handful of cards that the developers should have known to be overpowered at best or utterly gamebreaking at worst but released them anyway to make those expansion deadline$. Then they will be subsequently nerfed when they get around to it.

2)Lazy and uninspired deck archetypes that have been recycled or never changed. Oooo face hunter, oooh man DH that hits you in the face, oooh yeah rng mage and priest, brilliant another unplayable combo rogue, etc…

If you lower your expectations and don’t give them money you’ll be less disappointed.

I’m not apprehensive about the next expansion. Its going to go exact same as always broken deck left untouched for couple of weeks ruining the player experience until its finally “balanced” before needing a second “balance”

People are so excited about new content, they have gained trust that you can continue to deliver something that is fun, balanced and doesn’t try to nickel and dime players. The apprehension you see in other games about expansions is missing.

This is on you, you are very consistent as a developer. It’s kind of like those people all excited about buying a Tesla, only to find out it was even better than they hoped and inspired them to redecorate their house with homages to Elon Musk.

People truly believe you can deliver.

Agree on DH, but not sure why it’s a bad thing that the devs have started to react fast when something is obviously broken…

You’re projecting, dude. YOU do this every expansion, and there are a few other forum “regulars” we can always count on negativity from- but MOST people aren’t on the forum at all. They’re either playing the game because it’s enjoyable, or doing something else.

I reckon that- in terms of the number of people worldwide who play hearthstone- there is a very, VERY small number of people coming to the forums to complain about a game they don’t enjoy.

I haven’t been playing the last month or so, but that’s totally normal for me. I usually enjoy each expansion for a month or two, then do other stuff until the bext expansion drops. It’s the NOVELTY that makes a tcg fun, for me. I’m stoked about the new expansion, and I fully intend to have a blast with it for a few weeks at least before taking another hiatus.

I am speaking about far more than this forum, where only a few players actually come.
I am speaking about reddit and twtter etc, where thousands make their opinions known and the same thing happens every expansion.
As for projecting?
I rarely critique individual cards.
Over seven years I have complained about only a few.
Zephrys, Amaz Reno, Well, anything Reno really. etc.
I do speak on my opinion of the Hearthstone model, which I believe is accurate.
I save my harshest criticisms for the company and it’s design team,
as you probably know since you seem to know so much about me.

You’re 100% right about this, and it wears off ever faster with each expansion,
because players are jaded and easily bored.
Again; I’ll bet anything you want, We will see at least three different players post that the game is more busted than ever, and that this is the worst expansion yet, within a week of release. (If we see three or more here, imagine how many there will be on platforms Team 5 actually participates in?)
Not that I believe they will be completely unjustified.
That is the Team 5 model, and in terms of sales it works very well.
Print OP cards, wait until sales dies down, then nerf them to mediocre.
Release next card set.
Provided players continue to throw money at the game, then the designers have very little reason to change what they are doing.
Have a nice day.
