That’s because Twitter and Redit are the official US forums for hearthstone. These Forums are for us posters to troll each other.
except we get banned if we troll each other
Isn’t that our purpose?
id be pretty upset if i had 3000 something posts and that all got snapped
To me, this would mean I win.
I always do.
Except when I don’t.
But that doesn’t happen.
The posts should be accessible without going to a third party website not affiliated with blizzard in any way. It creates a conflict between the company and its customers.
All important posts should be reposted on the official forums. Otherwise, it’s making customers jump through hoops to get proper support or game information. Blizzard seems to forget who actually pays their bills and it’s very disrespectful to customers to do this.
While I agree that all important things should be present on here, the argument could be made that in the present age, ‘official forums’ actually present more hoop-jumping for most users, as most people would already be on sites like Reddit, Twitter and Instagram regardless, rather than navigate specifically to a site that only provides Blizzard/Hearthstone content.
And technically (though it’s not a technicality that I like) all important info is posted on Blizzard’s own site, as the Twitter and Reddit links almost always send a person to the official Hearthstone blog. I guess the idea is that if you want to keep up with HS news and announcements, the blog is what you should have bookmarked for checking, not the forums. We’re just here if you don’t want to do your discussing on the infinitely-more-populated social media sites, where folks who don’t do whole “forum thing” still reside.
It’s frustrating to type this, because I feel like I’m literally arguing against myself here (and winning) but the numbers support the fact that it’s just easier and more efficient in terms of resources/man hours (cost) to let the large-scale socialcam media sites host announcements and discussion, since traffic = attention and attention = business.
As much as many of us may wish it, there’s no case in which the devs could go 100% forums in order to drag traffic here and NOT lose exposure.
The lack of effort is what rustles my jimmies the most.
That’s 10,000% fair.
As someone who stopped checking the EU forums because they were effectively dead and moved up here (yeah, I’m another one of those pesky EU players) I am not surprised the slightest.
For all intents and purposes, the US forums are the “official” place for this game and no amount of mod interaction in the EU ones would ever change that.
It’s not just lack of effort, they fired the only member of their staff who actually cared about this place.
It’s active malice, at this point.
True. But talking about their ways in more detail does not make my town’s lockdown any less boring.
those blue posts on the EU forum are pretty much like gogo dancers in a club. all they post are gems like “great to see that you like card X. what are other people’s favorite cards?”
ever since they appeared, I’ve seen two posts of them that are different. one confirmed a bug and another answered a question that I asked him (by saying that he has no connection to anything dev-related).
also the account names are different pretty much everytime.
this is a long way of saying that you’re not losing out on anything by not having them here.
becuase the forums here are TOXIC AF.
Nah.
The mods are just thin-skinned, inconsistent and can’t keep up with our galaxy brains trading intellectual blows and are threatened by our minds colliding, creating new life and purpose as a result.
So your saying they tremble before our divine godly powers and they fear us because they know we out preform them at any aspect in life… on the forums and even between the sheets?
Or we know they just sometime go banning people without even really reading what is said or have people they like and let them slip… in other words they are as neutral as North Korea?
Their feeble dough brains could never come close to comprehending our wisdom.
And even if they did, their lackluster organic matter would evaporate into sheer stupor made manifest at the first struggle.
Which, when considering their general lack of competence, certainly already happened.
Such is the fate of the ignorant and ungifted.
I had a feeling that there is some company policy restrictions in terms of the type of communication at this forum.
The last frequent communications with JH did not continue after the departure would have indicated as such. Otherwise the replacement would have taken over the role in a similar manner.
Such policies are confusing and complicated. Also seen in the past few incidents Bliz have in terms of communication.
I think we should leave our comments more prudent, and direct them towards the system rather than person. As in a ‘big’ company, the system dictates the actions of it’s people.
OK, lets try this approach…
What is the purpose of this sticky:
Its so far outdated its not even funny, yet its still the pinned?!?
I find it highly unlikely that there would be more restrictions to what developers can post and how they post it on their own official forums as compared to other forums and communities.
If the developers have no trouble aligning with what is expected of them when they continuously answer questions, joke around, and even spoil upcoming updates on Reddit and elsewhere, there is absolutely no reason they cannot do the same here.
Their words would be constantly reiterated and overblown regardless of where they post, so the sole real argument that people would “take their posts too seriously” if they were published here is inherently moot.
If you would forgive the declaration, I do think you are crossing the line between being understanding and sympathetic and being naïve, friend. For the longest time, I myself made excuses on the developers’ behalf, but it is clear that the onus is entirely on them to make even a fractional effort.
They have never engaged in the bare minimum that can be considered “communication,” much less attempt to form a community and foster goodwill between themselves and posters here. Furthermore, consider how often they have broken promises that would be very easy to keep! There is no excuse, plain and simple.
