Wow (Disrepect at Mods)

So while looking at Schyla’s thread, I went to try an find the Old Blizzard forums to link something. While I didn’t find the Old Boards anymore, I found something pretty garbage.

How come over on the EU forums you can find Blizzard staff interacting with there players (Literally today by my link).

Yet on the US Boards you guys NEVER post in threads unless it involves a new thread about balance changes?? Seems like garbage to me. Shoutout to EU staff for trying to make talk with its community over there.

O.O

Genuinely NEVER knew there were two forums (EU and US). I’m English… have I been in the wrong forum all this time!?

This one is more fun by the standard of traffic an certain posters. But it shocked me that EU doesn’t get hardly any traffic yet, Blizzard staff actually tries to promote discussion over there. That post was 5 hours ago yet no reply atm.

Had that been over here loads of people would’ve responded (not all good I’m sure). Who knows, maybe we are on the wrong board lol.

I’ve known there was an EU forum for a long time, but I was already on this forum (well, the previous version of this forum) so I was too lazy to swap.

But yeah, I just clicked the forum link Blizzard advertised without mention of region, so before I learned about the EU forums I thought this was THE forum, no region-exclusive forums.

I would love for mods to talk more. What about the good ol’ days of classic WoW? The mods did whatever they want. Remember when one got into an argument about how C’thun was mathematically impossible to kill? I wouldn’t care if a mod called me trash at this game, because I’d love to hear that from a mod of all things.

The mods here are not disrespecting you. The opposite actually. They are practicing social distancing to keep you safe from viruses. Apparently they aren’t worried about the Europeans.

Yah they dont say much here but they sure are fast on the ban hammer if you make a post that gets flagged like me last week.

We EU folks keep away from EU forums… because of the French…

With Jesse being gone the engagement level officially dropped through the floor.

Every now and then we get a dev to pop in for a post or two then vanish for another six months, but that’s about it. Maybe there’s a hand-off policy because Blue text gets mobbed so hard on here, whereas theres almost no traffic over there at all so they can get away with it.

i mean that mod has 10 posts total I wouldn’t think too much about it

Personally, I want the forums to be more wild and out there, but that’d cause the media to go insane and a lot more trolls would arise. Like the old WoW forums! Nowadays if you call someone anything derogatory you get the big ol’ hammer.

But, even if the forums weren’t all over the place, I just wanna talk to a mod! I would love if they were move active, makes me feel better about them actually listening to stuff, and getting to know cool mods.

Edit: Yes, I know I’m using old WoW as an example a lot. But, they ARE the best example of something like this. Ehe, but it was a bit of anarchy.

EU forums are like a private beach area for members only, like they all know each other on there, next door neighbours or something.

Perhaps mods that post on there are just taking a bit of time-out.

I used to play an online game that had at least 2 active mods at all times; a big forum at least 10x the size of hs forum. Huge active members, mods were chosen by active forum posters aligned with company policies and so forth and they were always posting and mods 4 free and they were very strict on bans even the slightest, specially about spamming, and all related to personal statements. A 15 day ban or even a 7 day ban was for all players known as it shows in red in all of their status when they where ban, offline, online or so forth. Forum posters had ranks and could be degraded as well and ban. I think HS policy and forum guidelines are still pretty basic at its core and Blizz probably wants it to mantain it this way. The game lasted about seven years and it was awesome. All devs had their own colums and posted often as well. They try to phoenix the game at the end but it was too late. Bugs, cheats(HS is better at this, hack free exp) and finally power creep kill the game when they introduced God weapons over the legendary the game just went downhill and kill the F2P base which was needed to run the games. They did have a system rewards for continous log in, which was great because if you log a whole month everyday you had a reward, plus all the rest; every 7days and fifteen days. So if Mods here seems non existent it must be company policy. 4 what I see there is very little constructive forums to interact with, people will just say the silly of things behind a computer or mobile then hides as the owners identity is unkwon… All mods where known and strict and they where all hardcore players and usually came in rooms and play with the rest and ban those that deserve it as all could chat ingame as well. There were also ban offense warnings and you could be flagged and post review by mod, if that happen a mod would usually pm you before taking actions, unless your offense was policy ban; which was instant. 3 bans within a period could result in perm ban in game or in forums(or both) and 4get then how much you spent in the game. All I know that power creep does kill games. Maybe the less interaction the better. At the end of the day is a one vs one, except for bg which is more like a mobile game but better for some.

Sounds kind of authoritarian.

The systen work. Most players were active forums posters. When you have everybody chatting with each others in game and forums things get pretty nutty. So clear policies and strict bans where 4 the superior state…

So what I’m getting from this comment is that conversing is bad?

No is the best thing. But some people dont know the difference between conversing and constructive. Mods were ever present at times it might a good or bad. Can have both ways. If you make a thread for instance is to get a point across. There is always ways to make a stament without been harassing or just going overboard, just that.

That hardly made any sense.
