Wow (Disrepect at Mods)

Not trying to make any sense. Just seeing the OP wanting more mod interaction in HS forums and replying to that only, thks…

I am exclusively an EU player in every game I’ve played and still do. EU forums and overall service quality in EU with regards to heartstone is terrible. This forum has better and more diverse features, more engagement, more English and less Hingrish. I wish we hadn’t have to come here to have our voices heard and opinions known; I personally know most spend their time in US forums when they are otherwise hanging out in reddit and circl3jerk. Mods in EU are lesser in population, albeit we engage more, though not when needed the most (e.g. when servers are having problems, or a bug is ruining the game etc.)

Though EU forums are disserviceable, the enthusiasm of that mod is palatable. :+1:

Im laughing War bc ‘6 months’ is in no way, at all, an exaggeration of the truth.
6 months man that’s our worth. I bet if we had bacon on a stick waving it around we’d get more attention that’s a for-sure too. Maybe we can get bacon-on-a-stick forum avatars to like entice.

A better approach is to look in it for the long haul, so i’m thinking the Emperor’s helmet from Gladiator vs Russel Crowe, the ultra cool one with the metal-tear on the left eye, and the facemask that pulls down. It’s the scariest mask i’ve seen, but its so cool looking it would be the ultimate avatar at least for me, but before the blood comes out the nose so we don’t look defeated already.

Heck 'em. We have a good time here regardless. If they have to pick between focusing on the game and shooting the shiz with me on here, then please - go make my game.

It would be better if the developers stopped using reddit as their main source of information and started using these forums.

Reddit for advertising, these forums for announcements and answering questions.

It’s pretty garbage that they do it the way they do now.

Garbage is as garbage does.
It just garbages along.

It’s a simple numbers game.

Posting straight to reddit will always yield superior results to letting the playerbase distribute information from the official forums.

To them, they probably do see it as their posts being on the official site, since they are all done on the Playhearthstone official blog.

Maybe we’re all just wierd and dumb for valuing the official forums in the age of comprehensive social media websites.

Actually true.
You can’t compare the social interaction between the internet’s cesspits and a group of individuals.

Pretty sure the devs said the opposite on the old forums - news posted here makes its way to reddit, when the opposite doesnt always happen - or something like that.

Right. And wouldn’t forcing players to come to the official forums for information be better in compacting all information into one area?

Right now, if I want to see a comment by Ayala, I have to scour through threads and replies in reddit whereas, if they were posted here, I could navigate to it much faster since they control the information and how it’s displayed.

At this point in time, they’ve already sewn the seeds of information to be posted on reddit and there’s really no turning back. They work the exact opposite of nearly every other company out there.

Almost every other game has an official forums where the developers comment specifically in those forums and not outside in reddit before. Those games don’t have any negative impact from doing so. Games like Planet Zoo for example.

The only reason we have this reddit nonsense going on is because Dean Ayala and the crew like being active members on reddit and enjoy the format over their own forums.

They said that’s what happens, but I think it was an experiment to see how much interest/activity either approach generated.

After they did the bug overhaul and have been strictly on other sources, I’m guessing their data told them that the other way works better.

OFC when you make 1 post every 6 months the data will show the reddit is more popular/works better…

The US forum has always had more content and sections than the EU.

When I started ‘playing’ in 2017 there was no EU new players section, so you ended up here by default.

They did promise they would post regularly on thier official forms, but that was clearly to put out a community fire. I forget what it was at the time that got their attention but I remember people were really unhappy about something (more than usual). Their post count was like… 5 posts in a 1 or 2 week time span once. Now though… nothing for the past 8 months. So much for that promise.

And it’s broken promises like that, that only serve to further poison the well every time they make a new attempt at establishing a presence here.

See. If they just do it, the poisoned well will be purified, sooner or later.
Consistency is not a common trait amongst devs or mods, here,’ however.

Yeah, just look what they did to Paladin.

Honestly, why don’t they just stick to an identity that Paladin would fit into? Like protecting or buffing your minions. That’s pretty much their role in WoW.

Because that would betray their artistic integrity.
No. Wait. That was Mass Effect 3.
It would go against their design philosophy of ‘throw sh1t at a wall and see what sticks. Use said sh1t, even if it’s sh1t’.
