Yes, FF already has card games in their games but so did The Witcher and that didn’t stop CDPR from making Gwent a separate game.

There was already multiple FF card games(separate from the main game) decades before either Hearthstone or The Witcher ,the lastest one is called Opus XIV.

They never did well enouth in Squares mind to deserve a global release , on Japan playing a card game with FF units (online or not ) is like the sun rising every day.

Obviously I expect a Western release.
And the format would need to compete with HS more directly. People play HS because the format is simple to understand.
In my case i play it because it was the first playable and stable online card game , for me it just won the race.
While Yu Gi OH, Magic etc are all superior games it toke them a long time to have a good online client to play with their cards, their main focus was physical cards only when Hearthstone started to make rivers of money those giants started to take online card game seriously by then Hearthstone was a colossus.
I think that HS’s main appeal comes in it’s simplicity. You drag and drop, and that’s it.
Children can play this game.
Every other DCG I have seen has a bit of a learning curve as to how to play.
Yes, I would also like a pvp or pve mobile version of FF Tactics, while we are at it.
