Worst patch in the year. Just rollback this junk

To be fair most of them are probably expected to die which is why they have deathrattles…

This is why people are cynical toward them. Deathrattles suck in this meta and have sucked ever since barrens. When your entire strategy revolves around a few extremely powerful deathrattle effects, and you aren’t playing either druid or warrior, your very strong thing gets mind controlled by a turn 5 Yogg or a reno board poof. And because druid always has Yogg in hand and always has 10 mana by turn 5 it never fails. They have too much draw and tutor and ramp consistency that you can’t just play around it and hope they don’t have it. They always have it…

Well…

I think the spaceships work but only because their support cards are broken.

Like 3 mana draw 2 and discount by 2.

Somehow this is more broken than skull of gul’dan.

Demon hunters deck is just an aggro deck that kills you without needing its starship to do much, which is why that one has the best chance of working.

Yep.

Nope. You just think this because you’re infected by the fatigue mind virus.

Follow the math.

:man_shrugging:

It really didn’t do much. Mage is still the best deck. Rolling it back just puts the meta in a worse position than it already is. You either play Mage or you play some insanely aggro deck that wins on turn 4-5.

It really don’t.

There was a decent collection of decks before and the only reason for this patch was devs trying to sell new cards that can just be buff instead and players pet peeve with swingy turns that blizzard itself already admited to design on purpose.

Also renathal just goes out day 5. Balance around him is dumb. Just end the event sooner if that is the case.

Arent you tired of tsunami…tsunami…tsunami over and over again?

They clearly have no rules, as stated already they said they wanted big swingy turns… then turn around and nerf big swingy turns. But at least one step forward is better than no step forward for those of us tired of big swingy turns.

Starships are gonna be a bust unless they have combo potential as soon as they awaken. It’s just going to get removed or stolen as soon as it’s online. Yogg plagues standard and will plague Starships.

I also thought first thing they’re going to be terrible. 1) They’re too slow anyway 2) They can be stolen or silenced or any other Priest and Priest-like thing it can happen to them 3) Did I say they’re extremely slow?

At least it may force them to balance their game to accommodate them but don’t count on it.

I keep seeing this theme in complaints on the forum, where people expect some sort of consistency/constancy when it comes to design.

I don’t. In fact, I expect the opposite, which is clearly what they’ve been doing - rotate the different designs and what’s strong so that everyone can be happy for a little while, and thus hooked and ready to wait for their next period of grace.

The only unknown in my mind is how long should each period last for.

You know what the biggest design flaw with starships may be? That they hardcoded the launch to be 5 mana; maybe it could be shorter if it has fewer pieces; that way it would be more dynamic and not mainly a “combo mid-range” thing (hence either too slow or too fast depended on context).

Those devs appear to have a hard time not hard-coding the game; I’m not surprised when the lead dev spams foolish things on twitter; he forces several cards to have specific attributes because “it sounds funny” or it “sounds correct to the lore” and they’re kinda narcissistic today too.

No it really isnt better. Arguably its much worse.
