Wildfire Mage - It is a deck

Where’s the fun in that?

In theory the game is supposed to be Fun remember?

I not against that. I Just used disagree on how a Fun game looks like with people here because i think fair games are more fun.

Not some rigged game balancing made to favor whatever people think that not “feels bad” to lose to or forced ladder diversity.

This is very true but i am exited tim - SPAM THAT DECK :muscle:

Speaking of which, the top three most played cards in Standard rn are all Mage cards

Ah S**t here we go again

I was always convinced big spel mage was the for the memes and knew the other decks like hero power or a tempo based or even minion based mage deck aside from the usual otk is the way to go.
Lastly being meme tier is ok some ppl like that sort of stuff.

At the moment, but it wouldn’t take much more support to make it broken.

Deck of Lunacy vibes

Runes to me have the same feeling as Solarian and Yogg, they always backfire or wiff every time I play them yet always kick donkey when my opponent plays em.

I tried using the draw a spell and gain armor guy while only running Wildfire / Mask (for Dawngrasp ammo)

Maybe I’ll run Armor instead.

It’s what happens when you make players feel orphan of a entire class.

When you supress something that is popular people will get back to It the exact instant they can.

It’s exactly because the class has tendency of being popular that blizzard should take it’s design a little more seriously instead of going full memes.

That way stupid stuff like Quest mage not take over the ladder.

You not try to force people to do something else.
You design the game counting with people doing exactly what they normally do.

I’ve been running big spell mage and doing pretty well. Deck of Lunacy is amazing in the deck. Sometimes my fire sales screw up my one ice bllod tower (or a lunacy one) but they’re usually clutch vs paladin and rogue.

I’ve had Varden uo to 8 damage. 5 or 6 is pretty easy to reach. One wildfire gets you to 4. Cheaper varden also makes for a great turn 9 play after mask and deep freeze since you still get to ping whereas you used to not be able to do anything else.

I’m not near my pc but I’ll ty to remember to post the deck list when I get home.

Huge mistake, huge mistake :joy:

Just kidding, craft what you think it’s worth it :+1:

By the way, what’s the purpose of the hero in that deck? Just for the better heropower or because of some big spell synergy that I don’t see?

The better hero power is great. Varden now gives +2 damage if you’ve cast a single wildfire. And it can grow.

It’s a tempo swing and part of the win condition.
The Win condition is c’thun mask spam and get minions while doing that isn’t bad.

The Hero power, the battlecry is a bonus really, you probably get an extra wildfire, you might freeze a key minion etc

As Minami said, a second mask is great as well. Especially against a small board.

I saw the list but i could never run a deck where my Deepwater Evoker draws (Wildfire, Build a Snowman and Fire Sale all the time).

Its also impossible to run Balinda in the list and i love her too much to run a BSM list without her.

My only hero power card in BSM is wildfire so evoker almost always grabs a 4 (fire sale) or bigger. Especially since I’m aggressively mulliganing for wildfire and other early plays.

I dont run any spells bellow 7 mana in my list even Arcane Overflow felt bad synergy wise with the other BSM cards i run.

I’ve found fire sale to be amazing, especially vs face hunter, Token druid, and rogue. Even just 4 armor is good stall, especially when it comes hand in hand with a board clear.

How so?

I’ve been playing Orange’s list since yesterday and having a blast. Probably not playing it optimally, but it’s fun.

I also tried Kibler’s version a bit (no big spells/parrots). Also fun, but doesn’t fit my playstyle. I like me some RNG.

It has far less to do with mage being played a lot than it has to do with the fact that Ping mage requires heavy Wildfire mulligan.

Other decks mulligan less hard for a single card.
