The vicious syndicate report is exagerrated imo. Because the worst thing with evolve Shaman , was that on top being explosive, it was very consistent. While Ramp paladin is nowhere close in term of consistency, and a board of murloc can’t compare to a board with two 10 drop , one 6 drop, one 5 drop and 3 3drop that the shaman used to have turn 5 . And can still generate, too.
But its show well that the report differs depending on the source though.
@Izizero : May be so, but in this instance I’d rather go for it than vicious syndicate that compare ramp pally to Shaman.
Based on my experience on ladder today, Ramp Paladin is really just a highroll deck. When they hit their ramp (Nozdormu) and can follow up with a couple 10-drops, yeah, they win. Or when they draw Alura + spell by turn 4/5, they probably win. But there are a lot of situations when they don’t get any of those conditions and the deck just fails.
I agree with you in the assessment that Evolve Shaman was more consistent and more oppressive. The other problem was that Evolve Shaman was cheap so ladder was saturated with it.

my initial main in vanilla wow was a dwarf pally. it’s probably my general favorite archetype. but other than the libram one all the other decks seem to have… mulrocs? wut? it makes the class entirely unappealing to me, in HS. maybe if i didn’t have 16 or so years of thinking of pallies one way i’d just go for it. but every time i look at past good decks for pally it has murlocs as the base and the cards i like how they look from a lore perspective are garbage. it’s annoying. lol
Hearthstone has something of an obsession with murlocs lol
That said, there are good paladin decks that don’t use murlocs.
Pure paladin is a deck that only uses paladin cards in order to take advantage of cards with the text “if your deck contains no Neutral cards.” It’s quite strong though I don’t know if it will be any good after the next rotation. A lot changes with each rotation so it’s really hard to know what the meta will look like.
Libram Paladin (basically Pen Flinger Paladin) is a deck that utilizes some neutral cards along with the Libram package. It’s not a hard deck to play but it does require more thinking compared to Pure Paladin. It’s generally considered the better of the two but Pure Paladin is probably easier to master. I play both types.
In Wild, there is a deck called Odd Paladin that is all about making lots of Silver Hand recruits and buffing them. It’s the best paladin deck for wild but there are other paladin decks available such as Wild Libram Paladin, Secret Paladin, Hand-buff Paladin, Mech Paladin, etc.
I just wanted you to know that there are other paladin options.
I used to really enjoy playing Control N’Zoth Paladin in Wild but those were different times. Equality got nerfed (it used to cost 2 mana) and now Paladin doesn’t really have enough control tools compared to the likes of Warrior, Priest, Mage and Warlock to have a viable control deck.

can you link me a wild paladin deck that doesn’t include 3475934875 stupid murlocs. i have lots of wild cards and then i won’t have to worry about crafting ones that will rotate in a month or two. lol. the odd pally sounds kinda what i’d like. honestly i was just talking with my wife about this a second ago. how it seems like buffing knights/silver hand guys would make the most sense for a pally. XD i tried looking for stuff on hearthpwn but it’s all murlocs or something that uses 9438759384754 legendaries. and i can’t be bothered to waste a bunch of dust on one deck that i’m not even sure i’ll like you know. lol

I think first of all I need to recommend the best sources for decks to you. The first is Vicious Syndicate (forgive their name lol - add spaces to the links:)
https:// www.vicioussyndicate .com/wild-vs-data-reaper-report-25/
https:// www.vicioussyndicate .com/vs-data-reaper-report-187/
These guys are 100% data-based so there is very little bias if any in the information they present. They are widely considered the best source for decklists.
The second is Tempo Storm:
https:// tempostorm. com/hearthstone/meta-snapshot/standard
https:// tempostorm. com/hearthstone/meta-snapshot/wild
These guys put a lot of work into their product but sometimes their reports feel a little out of touch with reality. That said, I use both of these sources to see what they recommend for decklists and frequently update my lists based on their recommendations.
I’ll reply separately with good paladin lists for Wild.

Here are two Odd Paladin lists that I’m currently using. One is from Tempo Storm and the other is from Vicious Syndicate. I can’t really tell which is better and I have the cards for both (I recently crafted at least 4 epics for these) so I play both lists for now. These might be too expensive for your liking.

You could actually make a cheaper Odd Paladin with just Baku. It wouldn’t be as strong but it would still be fun and should still be strong. I could help you with that if you’d like.
Here is another good resource you can use to find decks that are Legend-viable. It’s a bit less reliable than the other two sources I gave you so approach with caution. It’s good to make sure that the list you want to craft has sufficient winrate data included:

ah cool thanks! i’ll look this over. for me i am not someone who cares about ranking or competing in championships. i just want to build decent cheap decks that are FUN so i can see how i can get in any given thing. does that make sense? the hyper competitiveness of the forums is just… meh.
like honestly my wife just hit silver 2 and that seems like a really cool thing to both of us because we’re more “complete quests and have fun” people vs ranking. lol
edit: excuse me she hit silver 1. lol

Rank doesn’t matter. What matters is that you guys are having fun.
I put together a budget Odd Pally list for you in case you’d like to try it out. It only has one legendary and two epics. The rest are common and rare:

ahhh this legendary is a neutral! so i could use it for multiple decent decks i take it then? i have the dust to craft it. will discuss it with the wife. thanks for the link! the shaman power also looks very good as well.
Yes, Baku is a very strong legendary. It’s certainly worth crafting. I play Odd Shaman, Odd Warrior, Odd Paladin and Odd Rogue and like them all.

if i’m reading this correctly it also makes it so life tap doesn’t cost health? i wonder if i can figure out a wild set up that uses it that doesn’t rely on losing health to make huge minions more powerful. hm. i will figure that out on my own though because the class seems designed around it and i’ll have to yolo a deck myself most likely. XD
i’ve been waiting to find a legendary that was good for multiple classes that was worth the craft. this seems perfect. thanks again for your help.

I love the Odd decks, and I just started playing Odd Paladin very recently, and it’s pretty fun. I also think it’s pretty funny when you summon a bunch of minions all saying “Reporting for Duty” on top of each other.

right now i have enough dust to make the legendary and some cards i might not have yet. this seems like it could be a ton of fun. i’m glad i’m on the forums right now. XD doing dailies etc right now but i’m gonna check this out in a few minutes. lol

i have the dust to make the entire set except one card which is 400 dust. is disciplinarian gandling a decent leggo i should keep or would it be safe to dust it and create the last card i need? i don’t mind getting rid of stuff that’s useless to make something else. i am 400 dust short cuz i only had one quartermaster. so if it is good is there a different card you could recommend that is not an epic?
edit i also thought about putting in my sticky fingers cuz it seems like it could be a useful add and is odd even though it isn’t knight related. hm. lol
I have never met anyone on ladder with Disciplinarian Gandling in their deck. However, he was part of a recent set and he could be super important in an upcoming meta if Blizzard prints cards that synergize well with him. He’s a bit of a slow card but the meta could theoretically slow down and he might become an important card. So I honestly would recommend to hold onto him for now.
Quartermaster is an important epic for Odd Paladin, which is why I left him in. The deck is basically about abusing his power
The whole gameplan of Odd Paladin is to summon a bunch of recruits and then buff them with Quartermaster to close the game.
That said, you can replace him with a Faceless Corruptor for now then craft him when you have enough dust later on if you decide that you like Odd Paladin and want to continue playing it.
Edit: Stickyfinger is ok if you already own a copy though I wouldn’t really recommend it in general. It’s only really good against Kingbane Rogue and you might not find many of them on ladder. Chief Inspector is a better tech card if you want to add one, but it’s not necessary by any means.
i have two copies of that so i’ll throw one in. once i open some more packs i’ll use the dust to make a second version of that card. i have most of the basic set and get tons of duplicates of high dust things a lot because of good rng so it should only be a few levels on the rewards track before i can make him. thanks!

How did Odd Paladin work out for you?
i ended up on a forum crusade and made a f2p account and haven’t messed with it yet. XD
https: //hsreplay. net/collection /1/566411825/#rarity=LEGENDARY
look at this. XD
Grom and ETC are both really good. Warrior is a really fun class even though it tends to be on the expensive side.
Greenskin is good in aggressive warrior decks (pirate decks). The Beast is one of the worst cards in HS, as are many of the Classic legendaries, strangely enough
I saw your f2p account effort. I already play on seven servers total so I’m in no rush to make any new accounts/start on a new server.
I actually enjoy the climb (some would call it smurfing) of starting with nothing and going through apprentice then starting fresh on the regular ladder.
I don’t know if you’re aware but I’m actually f2p. Having multiple accounts/playing on multiple servers means I can let each server specialize in 1-2 classes so I can craft a lot more freely and disenchant any card that isn’t in a class that server uses. It’s my way of beating the system but it takes more time and effort and obviously it doesn’t work for participating in any serious competition. That said, I don’t intend to ever compete seriously.
