Why this game will never be great

The forum has just too few avatars so it confuses people. Unless they do it on purpose, like that banned person who got both my nickname and avatar on a new account.

Did het get banned eventually?

I second this. The entire game has almost nothing to do with strategy. I can count in 50 games at most 1 I can say was well played. Nearly every game is the equivalent of some NPC delivered a win by RNG. Whether youā€™re the winner or not. You can go 6-7 games straight without seeing a single legitimate match. Next day it could be you that gets freebies.

Some decks require more skillful play to pull off even when not getting perfect draws, but theyā€™re rarely seen. Most are copy paste decks a zoo animal could log on and let RNG do its thing. Its no wonder they dont let you call people out on RNG welfare with emotes or otherwise.

But on top of that the game is third rate simply due to bugs that never get resolved, constant ā€œour game crashed like it does every 2 games on any platform, but dont worry your game was recordedā€. Inability to reconnect to a game with the slightest connection drop (even passing between access points ).

Enough is enough with the competitive tryhards that ruin the fun of gaming. Hs RNG is good. If you want a challenge let wannabe pros run Nozdormu the eternal

RNG? more like npcs copy pasting meta decks from some website, and every new expansion being extremely OP so people copy pasting those decks the most. RNG is a far lesser issue than everyone just copy pasting some deck brainlessly from the internet instead of trying to create a fun deck they like themselves.

You talk about strategy and what not, but are you playing in wild with your own custom made deck carefully put together or do you have some copy paste meta deck yourself? Its not like we get to make super difficult decisions in the matches themselves. Creating the deck is most of the strategy, wich is what people rarely do themselves

Thatā€™s certainly one issue. But even copy pasting the ridiculous meta deck involves RNG. Iā€™ve played some of those meta decks (and get bored), and sometimes Iā€™ll play someone whose deck I know exactly what every card is going to be, I know I have around 8-10 key cards that could counter it and donā€™t draw a single one. Conversely, I play cards I know their deck only has 3-4 possible counters for what Iā€™m playing and they draw every one of them. Next game I get perfection in every draw and they canā€™t do anything about it. The entire game is who gets a welfare check on their draws.

wtf are you on about? I want the game to require the same amount of thought during gameplay that it did when the damn thing first launched. If you think that makes ME, of all people, a competitive tryhard, you donā€™t know anything.

But what do you neeeeeed?

Thinking? We dont do that here.

The games overall RNG is to ensure decks dont breach a cap of ~55% winrate; idc what anyone says, but go look at HSReplay and the likes, and youā€™ll never see a deck with high plays with a winrate of ~60-100%; its design to keep it ā€œfairā€.

The arguement of ā€œif you playu long enough your bad streak goes and youā€™ll be a 50% winrateā€ is also dumb. If I play a game and I constantly feel like Iā€™m losing more than I am winning, regardless of what the stats show, Iā€™m going to stop playingā€¦ especially if Iā€™m losing to RNG lotto ticket style cards.

And while you might think, pffft youā€™re just one clown who cares, there are many more like myself.

Hearthstone has always had three levels of RNG:

High level - Am I matched up against a deck type that is strong vs my type?

Regular level - Do I draw my good cards before my opponent draws theirs?

Micro level - When random effects happen, are they good for me or good for my opponent?

The problem is that now, all of those levels are too high and have WAY too much impact, Far more than actual skill.

I really dislike cards like Terran Starport, Lift Off or Griftah. I think these cards are really unfun and bad design. The RNG always was very high, even since day 1 Knife Juggler, Arcane Missiles, Lightning Storm, Ragnaros etc. If RNG gets toned down it is better.
