I’m not sure why I’m posting this here, since the Mercenary devs don’t engage with the community whatsoever, but I just wanted to ask why the PVP remains in such a horrendous state after nearly a year of people begging for nerfs to problematic characters like Valeera, Trigore, and Vol’jin. I guess this is more to vent my frustration with the current devs’ inability to listen to feedback than anything.
Because if they nerf things, one of the five people still playing mercs might quit, and they’d lose 20% or more of their playerbase.
People actually do more than the occasional quest in that mode?
If there was an active player base it would make sense.
Right now, the less updates mercenary gets the better it is (so we don’t have to download extra stuff that has no purpose)
People still play mercs?
One of the recent patches had a massive overhaul of Mercenaries, lots of nerfs & buffs.
Only when they lock HS packs behind mercenaries related quests
True, because that was the last time I played for the quest.
It was my first and last time
Since the main mode of Mercenaries is the solo mode, nerfing strong Mercenaries is a bad idea that would make chapters more difficult than intended. Buffing bad Mercenaries makes much more sense.
Since midsummer quest I play more mercs then regular hearthstone. This is more relax. Just play against an npc and try to beat it with a good team. Regular hs is only losers with meta decks ruining others fun. And if they nerf trigor that would be very bad. You can just play mannoroth against him that lower it’s attack. Or a pirate that steal his attack. Or just don’t attack his neighbors. But why ask for a nerf in this awesome gamemode? Standard hearthstone is also full of OP decks. Which nearly never gets nerfed. And I haven’t tried PvP in mercs myself. But if it’s like regular hearthstone matchmaking. Then nerfing the mercs solve nothing because then you get another counter.
The problem with Trigore is that ANY damage his neighbors take will cause him to damage your team, meaning they can attack into you and you’re completely helpless. This is an especially big issue against Valeera since she can maintain her team-wide speed buff almost permanently, meaning you will go last every turn, which in this game mode is a huge deal. Regular HS can get away with having a few OP cards because everything is reliant on the luck of the draw, unlike Mercenaries, where everything is done in a set order. “I haven’t tried PVP in mercs myself.” So why are you talking about something you have no experience playing?
Legit my pvp merc queue’s would be 2-3 minutes when I played mercs. Also, if they need to nerf anything in mercs it’s the pve.
