Man, I stopped playing this game for a while but priest was always my fave.
Every time I’ve tried to come back, priest just doesnt have anything so I don’t.
Actuallyt with renethal back in the meta i reckon control highlander renethal priest looks like a deck you could play plus its very fun and then when the new expansion drops you could check out the new cards
Because they give mostly hate. Oh let me drop an Aman’thul here; nice cards you had there; they don’t exist. Oh nice card you have there; it would be terrible if something happened to it; now it’s mine.
Because Priest can do nothing else just copy, steal cards from the enemy, heals tons of HP and generating endless resources… it is one of the most annoying class because it has an answer for almoast everything mainly when stealing from the enemy… thats why ppl hate it.
Speaking from empirical experience, the Priest class’s meta can be summarized via a famous Indiana Jones quote:
“What was briefly yours, is now mine.”
Priest has plenty atm including a meta deck. Give overheal or highlander a try.
Priests are kind of hard for hearthstone to do justice since healing is a major theme for them and you cannot win games through healing (unlike in World of Warcraft where healers are a key part of dungeon and raid groups’ success). The shadow/dark side of them is thematically like psychic or spiritual assault sometimes in nature which is not popular with opponents. I think the intellect based, and the faith based, WoW classes are harder to do justice or appreciate, at least for myself, because I am kind of a moron with a semi-functioning brain and a bad soul. That’s just me though.
They are exploring that with overhealing, how to play offense with defense and defensive cards, but point taken, group mechanics vs 1v1. Now if there were some multi player options…
it would be very cool, and very, very complicated, for Blizzard to make a dungeon run mode that actually took a bunch of players working together to do in Hearthstone.
Even those 2 player coop tavern brawls were cool, when the other player doesn’t kill you. But yeah even a 2 player dungeon run would be cool. Surely they could do that with 2 friends?
Yeah, they could someday make that. I hope they consider it.
Sadly they don’t even make solo content anymore, i miss solo content
Im sorry but i have no simpathy for Priest class. Its pure Amanthul, Yogg-Saron, steal and copy. So antifun to play against it (if you play 2 copy/steal cards in a row by turn 3, I just concede, i know what you are playing and I don’t have time to waste in that).
If you play Priest and anything except copy-steal decks, you are a MVP and i love you.
I used to play dragon priest which was a lot of fun. Also enjoyed shadowpriest shennanigans around TGT set. Former was pretty strong, both were fun, and neither were more annoying than other class metas.
Overheal is…not great. Overheal generally needs another card to be played in order to activate rather than more passive synergy. Requires a lot more resources / deck space.
Also looks like they’ve tried to put more undead and ressurection stuff into priest but not really committed to it?
Because Blizzard doesn’t care about your fun, but the collective’s.
Maybe this is true but not all priest metas have been awful to play against.
And its a poor excuse…they should be able to define more priest archetypes which are fun for everyone
Mostly because many take a vow of celibacy. Hahahaha-ahhhh…. I’ll see myself out.
Maybe just as well, because they mostly suck at creating PvE content for HS, which is one reason the dungeon crawls for Mercenaries was so bad, despite me giving them early feedback about how it needed major improvements ASAP—yet they did nothing, except for increasing PvE grind times.
I have a ton of unfinished HS solo content, which I will likely never do. The best PvE content they ever created was the dungeon boss runs that includes treasure cards, which inspired the duels mode, but like Mercenaries, Duels fell short in its design, and failed as well, but not as badly as Mercenaries did.
I have wondered if Duels could be rebooted by hybridizing the concept with PvE dungeon content where you battle a boss to earn card buckets of cards or a treasure to choose from before using the evolving deck to face a human opponent. A run would end after three losses whether they were to the AI or the human players.
