Im getting really tired of never getting a triple at all for the entire match… its to the point that I need to have a space for cycling a battlecry minion but I cant because all my spots have been built up enough to where I’d be hurting myself to drop one to try and do so… its getting pretty frustrating having 3 different pairs of minions and my 7th being the never sell fish for nzoth… and this continues all the way to turn 10 or 11 when the game is over because my opponent have a full board of goldens in their absurd 100s+ stats I can never dream of obtaining…
What’s your sample size? Come back when you have played 80 games.
A couple of games of 1 player is bad stats.
Been like this for about the last month or 2? not every game, but at least 4 out of 5 are like that. Id estimate thats roughly 5-10 matches a day… so conservatively speaking thats roughly 120 games out of 150… and on the other end of that spread its roughly 480 out of 600 games? Its a mostly consistent thing for me. Im no stranger to lowroll games or terrible RNG just being a normal status quo for me. Its just annoying.
Do you know that if the other players get a card it’s gone from the tavern?
O rly?
Yes of course I know that. Im normally the only one playing a given tribe in the match in most games. Example: The tribes might be Beasts, Demons, Elementals, Mechs, Quillboars, Undead. 5 People are quillboar as soon as turn 1 or 2, 2 others are mechs. I’ve picked Undead. All game I can go without a triple.
If 5 players pick quilboars and 2 are after mechs, than that’s what the tavern seems to have most off. Not undead… or you’d see 5 ppl playing those.
Play what the tavern has on offer most. then you can have a good start.
you think there are any mechs or quillboar available when 5 are already quillboar and 2 are already mech? The lobbies dont “have more” of any tribe than another… it isnt weighted. There are a finite number of each minion of each tier in the lobby. (not including forced or generated ones) Meaning there isnt 5x as many quillboar as there are undead in the match i gave as an example. Besides, you cant just know what the lobby is offering the most of, you refresh the lobby at the start of each turn outside of freezes, as well as refreshing it yourself. There isnt a history of the offers in the last few refreshes to give you any indication of what is being offered more than another. Also with so many useless neutrals in the game now its pretty normal to encounter entire refreshes without a tribe at all.
That’s not my experience, you seem to have bad luck in BG’s most of the time.
its like its a curse sometimes… other times its just predictably humorous how the game will deny me anything useful for so many refreshes.
I guess that’s where your confirmation bias comes from. Are you aware of the concept of MMR? The more you play the more people on your skill appear.
How long are you sitting on a double waiting for it to triple? Most of the time outside of some rare instances you should be dumping lower tier minions a few turns after acquiring them unless they are being used for a specific purpose. Like a Sabre being in an end game Leaper build.
IIRC, there are also more minions in the minion pool now as well.
Didn’t they cut something like 24 cards but added in like 30+?
I thought I remember hearing that a few weeks ago.
I seen this sampling also. In a game, it appears and having done so for the last 3 weeks, when you see the types in the first two rounds those are favored by the game to be the ones playable. Not as you are thinking that if you are the only one playing Z and everyone else is playing X or Y that you should see a lot of Z. NOPE, Sorry the RNG doesn’t like Z in this game, it’s pumping X and Y. Which is a CROCK of SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!
No, there is a known value of how many of each minion in a given tier is in the pool. You subtract the known ones that others are using, and do not count the ones you are able to generate from a hero power for example or a minion that gives you a random minion via battlecry or deathrattle or number of turns, or evolved minions from hero powers or buddies. Aside from those interactions, there is a known number of the total of any given minion at question available in the pool. It isnt weighted to have 2x or 3x of one tribe than another tribe.
Edit: The trinkets didnt help me obtain any either. I picked the one that stops me from getting any tier 1 or 2 minions in the tavern anymore, and the other that would give me a dreamers embrace spell at the start of each round. I also had the murloc that gives me a random murloc at the end of each round… all of these ways of generating murlocs and still never got a triple once the whole match… I had 2 of the one that summons one from hand after giving it +2/+2 at start of combat. the deathrattle +5/+5 to one in hand, and a couple others i cant recall what they were or did… didnt even last long enough to reach tier 5…
Post Edit:
Just played as the new hero that gets a 3rd trinket as his hero power but its earlier than everyone else. I had the “give a random undead at the beginning of turn” and two of the greater trinket that “give 2 random undead at the start of turn” yielding me 5 undead at the start of each turn… 1 golden all game. Granted the game only lasted for me to get all three trinkets to pop once… so whatever turn it is you get the greater trinket…
The OP mechs are crazy… I can never get an automoton to appear outside of the trinket that gives you one… and this guy had 2 golden ones and a normal one and some other thing not an automoton … and then his board doubled to yield a total of 4 goldens and 2 normals ones… what the actual capital letter F.
A More Minions in the pool.
B picking the same tribe as others
Example, by turn 4 I had 2 pairs of tier 1 dragons
I decided to go dragon, sadly I never tripled anything because 3 others went dragon,
example I went undead, I tripled every undead minion except for two t6 minions, which I had 2 but not 3. every else mostly went mech. I was the only undead.
What exactly are you trying to say? there seems to be entire sentences that should accompany what you wrote to actually connect any sentence to another… and some words too for some of those sentences.
back when having triple stats on minions was truly rare, so were triples.
now they’re easy. just bad luck.
Just for you,
There are more minions in the pool, secondly the chance of seeing a particular minion is decreased by how many other players are taking that minion.
A question for others, how useful is choosing to remove t1 and t2 minions from the pool? I have always picked more obviously useful choices.
Here’s the REAL problem currently. I have seen many other Top BG players also point this out. It’s more evident if you are using a tracker and just look at what is in the tiers and how many their are. Currently this is how the Tiers Break down by # of overall minions. This is for Solo not Duos FYI.
Tier 1 - 22
Tier 2 - 36
Tier 3 - 36
Tier 4 - 41
Tier 5 - 46
Tier 6 - 33
Just looking at numbers you can see finding the “Right” tier 5 is extremely difficult. What makes it worse is that this is the number of Neutral minions in each tier.
Tier 1 - 0
Tier 2 - 2
Tier 3 - 4
Tier 4 - 5
Tier 5 - 13
Tier 6 - 5
What this tells us is that there are a RIDICULOUS amount of minions in Tier 5 and within that tier there are far too many neutral minions. The chances of you ever tripling a tier 5 is going to be crazy outside of getting extra copies through other means. Even tier 6 has a better chance of getting found from all the methods that specifically target tier 6.
Either Tier 5 needs less minions in it or the ones in that tier need spread out better. It’s why you will find many builds sit on 4 and try to triple into 5 for the discovery currently while the trinket carries them to a top 4 or even a win through just a Tier 4 build. If you are going to 5 it means you are probably rushing to 6 for something because you cannot really count on just randomly finding 5’s at this point.
I have personally sat on 4 with a build and gotten Varian’s that let me discover the 6’s i need and just gone from there. Its’ extremely difficult in this meta to hit triples if you go into tier 5 looking to triple something without a gimmick. Not to mention just finding something that works once go to tier 5.
Hopefully they do a big patch this week and really shake up how things are in the meta. Minions need spaced better and some trinkets need changing.
Many times thats the best one offered. Ive tried it twice thus far and it hasnt let me make any better progress than with them in it usually. meaning even the best trinket offered to me doesnt make a difference usually… Ive looked at the bigger list of trinkets and Im amazed there are sooooooooo many that ive never once seen offered. Like every tribe seems to have a few dedicated to them in both lesser and greater trinket pools… ive come across the murlocs ones, and elementals ones. and once I got a lesser undead one. but normally i tend to get the non tribal related ones offered.
