Looking at what other classes can do and comparing it to druids, I feel so limited and broken. There is such a massive list of things that are great about other classes; such amazing spells and minions. Then looking at druids… I don’t even know what to say. I’ve seen and built a few decks that are good for low tier climbing, but burn out around gold. I’ve played token Druid, clown Druid, and a few other builds but it isn’t even about how high I can climb but rather watching some of these other classes do some crazy, fun gimmicks. I buff minions. Yeap. That’s Druid. Even other druids I’ve fought and destroyed. Completely garbage builds and dreadfully boring. Given that there are 4 specs in WoW now you’d think they could make more interesting cards based off the class. Then there’s the whole “rush” thing. It’s so broken and stupid it’s not even funny. So many times I could’ve gone face and won, but I’m sitting there not able to do a damn thing. Blizzard should just go back to “charge”.
It’s like “rush” as a mechanic is not meant to go face
illidari inquisitor and trampling rhino: sweat
BTW, token druid is not bad and can bring you high on ladder (not sure about legend, but probably).
You just need to fill the board early in the game and buff it, then it’s gg for most of the classes.
Of coure, if your hand is bad, it will be hard to win in the late game against other strong decks; but druid isn’t in such a bad spot like you may think (form a “playable decks” point of view).
I feel that’s the problem as it really doesn’t make a whole lot off sense. Rush acts and behaves the same as charge does, but stops minions from going face. As other classes have some very OP mechanics it’d be great if Druids got a legendary that allows all rush minions to go face.
As far as token Druid goes it’s really over sold as a good deck. It’s so easily stopped as it takes the perfect draw to actually ramp up enough to really take anyone out and even then a sold aoe/cleave or just board clear and your Druid is 90% of the time completely defeated. It’s gimmicky but not all that fun compared to other classes that can pull off some serious combos.
Druid has some pretty cool things it can do. Being at ten mana crystals while my opponent is at five is awesome. Survival of the Fittests -> Carnival Clowns into a full board of 8/8 taunts is just ridiculous. They need some kind of full clear or they’re just straight up dead.
Playing Solar Eclipse -> Arbor Up on a board with two minions gives a HUGE wide board that feels totally awesome! And you can do it on turn three with double lightning bloom. Tell me that’s not awesome.
Celestial alignment into tons of giants is pretty bad and a huge meme, but it’s really cool. Togwaggle druid is a horrible deck that no one should play, but it’s interesting and some people seem to like it. Same thing with jade druid. There’s so many interesting things you can do with druid.
Oh yeah, and I forgot about taunt druid! It’s not that competitive yet, but it’s interesting. You can play Razormane Battleguard to discount your taunts, Greybough keeps coming back as long as there’s a minion to inherit its deathrattle and Plaguemaw the Rotting brings your taunts back over and over again. That’s pretty cool.
on the other part of the field, I bet it doesn’t look so awsome
wrong: your minion can go face, like any other minion.
Rush isn’t a malus “you can’t go face”, it’s a bonus “you can attack as soon as you play it”.
A card that lets rush become charge is not very likely to be released, expecially in druid, which is not a class known for rush/charge mechanic
Congratulations, you figured out why some cards are balanced with Rush but not if they had Charge.
Given what other classes can do with their cards I’m not sure what the point is. Forcing players to over draw their cards repeated, copying all the same cards over and over and over again, I can go on if you like? The over use of secrets. Oh yeah sure buddy, rush is just fine. /RollsEyes
Well, you see, Rush lets you trade when you play it, which makes it a great board control tool, especially when you’re a class that doesn’t get much removal in terms of spells and is blessed with extra thick creatures because of it. And ramp.
It also allows Blizzard to print a critical mass of these cards (Rush Warrior) when, if you look far enough back in the history of Hearthstone, Face Hunter was just a deck that ran all the Charge minions and some damage spells to kill people without ever making a trade. Mostly Neutral minions.
In summary, you can’t print many Charge minions with a decent attack stat or you create a degenerate deck that doesn’t care about the board. Rush minions, on the other hand, can have really good stats and even other beneficial effects without being broken. Charge minions were stat’ed like “3 mana 3/1”. Illidari comes up, but it’s 9 mana to deal 9 to face. It’s frustrating that one taunt can’t block it, and you could argue the card is too good. Is that your complaint? They print stuff that’s too good for classes that aren’t Druid?
One aoe silence and those clowns are useless or watching a mage or rogue go immune over and over again. There’s a point where it just gets silly and destroys the game. Especially when combined with card copying.
So you’re talking about wild then? Sorry I don’t play wild so I don’t know anything about that.
With Token Druid once I had 5 3/2-s and 2 4/3-s on turn 1.
Gibberling → Innervate → Innervate → Coin → Lightning Bloom → Arbor Up
I won that Masters Qualifier match against Priest.
And this actually happened that day when this post was written, lol. Druid can be pretty broken many times.
The point was that druids are overly boring, it wasn’t about balance. I’ve played Tokken Druid as well and done really well with it but even when I grab a win it feels like it was a boring win.
to be fair it hard make cards for a class who main for past few years are Tokens and Big minions
if they made a Feral druid might spice them up but questline fail give us that (or till next expiation but I do not see it sadly)
