When you gonna nerf Rez Priest?

Most unfun and OP deck this game has. Unless you get really really lucky with a perfect draw and perfect curve and the Priest gets crap cards (which is not many) you lose period.

Tired of un imaginative dull decks like Rez Priest so much fun let me tell you… Hire real devs and not GED devs.

I normally hate all Priest decks but I had to build an original Rez Priest in Wild Casual to combat the constant aggro. It’s not ideal to have to resort to classes I usually despise but it is what it is. Overbearing aggro meta required a response.

Last I checked a good aggro combo deck destroy Priest gameplay because most Priest decks wait until turn 4 or 5 to play a card. By then its way too late to recover in most games.

Except for Priest decks in WildCasual that are designed to fully combat aggro. I may take some face damage early but then I’ll either put up a perpetual wall of killing taunts or I’ll OTK the galakrond (insert class here) aggro. And just to remind everyone, I hate Priest mechanics and incessant aggro metas. I will say though that when I’m forced to play Priest, at least I don’t play card copy. Despise Priest stealing most of all.

Instead of priest, what class or what deck do you like, since you hate playing the deck you current play?

I’ve liked and disliked all classes at one point or another but I often build to counter oppressive metas in Wild Casual. I don’t netdeck so all of my decks are originals. If I had to pick preferred classes, I guess I would say Warlock, Hunter, and Shaman. I would share some of my original decks but would then be contributing to net decking. Very proud of my best ones and thankfully they still hold their own in WC even against some of the biggest decks HS has seen over the years.

And to be clear, I don’t hate my Priest deck, I just hate the class. Proud to say it is highly effective against aggro and control alike and doesn’t utilize the mechanics in Priest I find most contentious. No card steal or card copy, no Divine Spirit/Inner fire. I have versions of my Rez that have anywhere from two to twelve minions and they all get the job done most of the time.

This makes me laugh since there are like 3-4 viable decks per class at any given time and they are all well known and replicated en masse.

Sorry guys but “home brewing” just isn’t really a thing in HS. You are either playing a common combination of cards or you are going to be losing a lot of games. Your choice is either blow the dust on a powerful net deck or settle for rank 15. Take your pick.

people who said their decks are "originals " stopped posting their decklists after being told the list could be found on hearthpwn more than once

There are many threads about this topic. Devs don’t think it’s ‘a problem’ because the deck is not seen in higher ranks ladder play. I understand that they are using ‘logic’ for deciding what to nerf and not nerf (we have to be careful about that, yes), but frankly the Res mechanic, at least the way it’s carried out in HS, is just bad game design.

Res Priest is by far the most obnoxious, infuriating, not-fun deck to play against. So many streamers and skilled players absolutely HATE playing against it because of how the games usually play out. And yet the devs keep printing more Res cards, being completely tone-deaf about the issue that is the core problem with Priest.

I said this before, every Priest I play against now I rope him to death on every turn. If you’re going to play that obnoxious deck you deserve to suffer.

I really don’t like rez priest as well. So I created a deck to annoy it. Made a priest deck that is based on taking control of their minions.
It’s low rank but after a few tweaks I’m starting to go on a run with it

Like it or not. Res is the direction they’re going with Priest, so if you can’t accept this, then feel free to take a break and come back in April 2021.

Glad you got a laugh but you’re just flat wrong in this instance. I’ve never searched a deck online and quite often do original builds that are highly competitive in Wild Ladder. Still, with so many decks out there and a common card pool, I won’t deny there is going to be overlap. I’ve just never sought decks from others and always start with a blank slate. The desire to build originals for me comes from old school MtG. I’m not saying I’m competitive in Standard, let alone Standard ladder, because I use concede as a filter quite often against decks and players I find contentious. Thats why I’ve found my place is HS in Wild Casual. I get that it is not common practice but it works for me. The downside of building effective original decks in WC is that eventually enough people see it and begin replicating it. It’s bound to happen after enough play but it still irks me. I was running my original Reno Secret Hunter in Wild as far back as Whispers. Before long and with some key additions in later expansions, it was everywhere. To each his own I guess.

This is your own fault. When you play aggro decks you force others to play decks that exploit the weakness of aggro decks.

Stop playing aggro and I will stop playing priest, it really is just that simple. I am intentionally countering you because there are so many of you. If you all spread out, maybe tried something else, ANYTHING else, I would do the same.

Until then, enjoy my priest deck.

“Hey, put the “weapon” down!”
“No, you first.”

Not only did i NOT blow dust on a powerful net deck, i made my own Galakrond Shammy, (nerfed to the ground they said) and quickly climbed to rank 9 Standard, within a few hours, (from rank 16 i think it was) Probably can manage rank 5 if i bother. Is it a homebrew? Yes i made it myself. Is it similar to what exist online? Sure, its Galakrond. Its bound to match something allready existing to some degree… Do i have original ideas? Dont know, since i dont search online much to find decks in play… Netdecking simply isnt for everyone, and surely home brewing exist… Even “high ish ranks”, playing casually in Standard…

Im quite opposite there. I liked priest a lot before, first class i got to 500 wins. Playing dragon priest mostly, but allso back when deathrattle was a priest thing… Now With ress priest, i simply dont find the class much fun, nor challenging… Steal priest, allthough not much fun to play against, is way more interesting and different… You rarely play the same deck in the same manner, as With ress you allways play the deck the exact same way…

My to go to decks now, is mostly highlander decks of different flavour, or currently a galakrond shaman, wich i enjoy a lot… Never encounter any shamans these days… Its all Hunters, druids, mage or rogues., wich is Nice… Kind of enjoy making my own decks, but allso a class or deck type thats seen upon as a dark horse or ugly duckling at the time… Wich is both challenging and fun…

It’s SO op, that it is not even tier 1. Now that’s an achievement.

What you stated is not even part of the equation as it is a very expensive deck to build AND most people wont play it even if they had the cards because of how boring it is.

There is way more to a deck being Tier 1 then just how good it is.

Priest is a NECROMANCER NOW , ANDUIN HAS LOST ITS IDENTITY
friggin Team5 and BLizzard always destroys nice games, and it started loong ago…

I completely and utterly destroyed a priest today… still lost to them though lol

That says a lot about how broken a deck is… I think they played a total of 6 cards, there is no way you can argue any skill in that… I can even remember the order:

Quest
Mass hysteria
Infiltrator
Defender
Psychopomp
Mass resurrect

And that’s game…
