Trying to figure out what determines your star bonus. I finished last season off at Rank 3 and was just awarded 10 bonus stars. I honestly thought it was going to be lower as I wasn’t pushing for legend or anything special. I thought maybe I would be at 8 stars because of rank.
I heard some people got 8 stars even though they were rank 20 so now I’m trying to figure out what determines your bonus stars.
What are yours? Anyone get 11+?
I finished at around rank 10 and got 4 stars.
Rank 5, 9 stars *********
whoa, I definitely would have thought 10 would have been higher star bonus.
Finished at 4 and received a 9-star bonus. From what I heard the highest you can get is an 11-star bonus for finishing in Legend.
I finished rank 12 after barely playing all month and got 5 stars
In Standard, I finished rank 5 for March and received 9 stars.
In Wild, my highest rank was 9 and I received 8 stars.
According to these tweets from Celestalon, MMR is supposed to be the primary determinant of your star bonus, with the rank you achieved for the previous month providing a minimum floor. Not sure how that maps onto the old system for the transition though:
Standard rank 3 got me 10
Wild rank 4 got me 9
Finished with 15 Wild this month, got 8x stars. Though oddly I could have sworn it showed me 6x during the little month-end thing while logging in, then 8x once I went to Play mode. I could have remembered it wrong, it did flip by quickly.
I wonder if these stars are based on MMR, rather than March rank…
Yeah, people are saying they’re getting 5 or 6 star bonuses, maybe it was because I grinded at the last second?
I finished rank 9 last month and got 8 stars. It’s odd, because I played nothing but janky crap all month long, so I wouldn’t think my MMR was decent.
Same. I played a lot of meme in my wild and still got 9 stars in wild.
I wonder if Casual results are included at all. That’s always used MMR for matchmaking, and it certainly has been the bulk of my play.
It does seem a bit incongruous that we’re both at 8 stars with such different rank finishes.
Maybe, but I play even crappier stuff over there, usually just things tailored to get a Quest or two out of the way before bed if I haven’t had time to play for a couple days.
9 stars at rank 18 =/… played 5 games the night before reset(same for the past several months)

I can guarantee you Casual isn’t included: my Casual loss-rate is about 99.99% since I use it to farm quests, yet my star bonus was 9.
