This game in comparison to magic is SO unbalanced it is actually disgraceful. There are very broken decks that simply win with so much card draw and card value that to even attempt to be creative in this game is pointless. Sorry, but this game just needs way more cards, and variables to even come close to as satisfying and strategic as Magic. Magic has so many mechanics that balance broken decks that this game doesn’t have. Like flying, and the fact that each attack actually creates risk for the opponent with his life total. I honestly don’t know why there are so many diehards for this game still. The ONLY way to enjoy it is to dump about 1000 dollars, or days into the game first. The best thing about this game is battlegrounds. Spent hundreds on the game. I’m sorry it took me this long to figure out how much better magic is for the price. Maybe just remove the broken decks people complain about and the cards involved. Idc now anyways. I’ll say thanks at least for battlegrounds though.
Oh, just wait. Didn’t they ban a card in less than a month after the expansion released because it was unbalanced?
I don’t know if this is a troll or not, but have you ever played against mono red? Embercleaves and Steamkins? Current top 5 popular MTG meta decks are Rakdos Oven, Mono Green, Temur Reclamation and Adventure, Sultai Ramp. When these decks are cemented into the meta, there is NO variation in deck builds, at all. Repetitive oppressive decks that roll out exactly the same each game.
I really don’t like how the Magic’s text was put. The keywords always are explained inside the card, and too confuse type of products. Anyway, it is classic and the piooneer card game.
Dissapoint digital games, I wanted to play a Shandallar with current graphics and the iconic old cards with the new and old rules and they launch a Magic Arena with a asian layout of moneygrab game. And it is too expensive for a toy too, the paper version is like you were buying another currency so after you need stay concerned about its worth and investiment value …
I also don’t like how it is a influencer for Hearthstone, because Magic trending, Hearthstone doesn’t re-use older keywords, I don’t like it, however, it only is my opinion too.
Dude, Shandallar was the bleep. I wasted so many hours with that. Even re-installed it a few years back (since it’s abandonware now). The only reason why I started playing Duels of the Planeswalker was to try to re-live that singleplayer stuff, hoping we’d get something similar like that again. The last one came close with the random decks the AI opponents had, but since those were only from the latest expansions, it invalidated your older decks because of the powercreep (yes, even with expansions only a year apart). I’m done with Magic because they just left the last one, despite their claim of continuous support. Guess we now know why Wizards stopped support. I’d doubt they’d release an anthology single player now. Shame, I’d buy that in a heartbeat, going from fourth edition up to now with all the cards.
There are a lot of people who play Hearthstone because of its streamlined nature when compared to MtG. This doesn’t make it inferior, but different.
If you prefer MtG-style gameplay, then by all means play that as your game and have a blast. This doesn’t mean all games need to be like MtG, though.
So its exactly like hunters in HS right? You know, the overwhelmingly superior class for the last 4 years?
Magic has the variation element that HS will never, ever have. I ve been playing HS for the last 4 years, and all i ve experienced in this utter failure, a.k.a standart, is that if you wanna win, go hunter. No need to think, no need to have a deck building skills, just put stuff in there and go face. You just simply cant go wrong. MTG dont have that, even if you are playing an agro deck you just have to THINK, thats the element that HS is missing; THINKING.
I played MTG Arena for about a month, the cheapest deck i found was the Red Cavalcade deck. I dont play agro decks in any card games, i prefer to take my time, THINK about my moves and plan 2-3 turns ahead. That deck, was the only agro deck across all cards games that i ve invested in for the first time and it was amazing. I was actually playing it like i was playing a control deck in HS, so many things to consider, so many things to keep track of.
Eventually i had to quit the game because there were just way too many cards to collect and it would take years to have a decent collection but my brief time in MTG was awesome.
MTG just have that, idk what to call it, that flavor. Every color has something to offer, even if you dont win every single game you still have fun, you still do something. In HS if you play anything other than hunter (in standart that is) you will just get obliterated. There are no other “viable” options left in today’s HS. If you are expecting things to change, dont. Doesnt matter which expansion they will release, hunters will own the ladder (standart). Face, quest, mech, midrange, secret, spell, odd, doesnt matter which deck they ve had in the past, they always dominated the meta and i just stopped playing standart all together. Standart has become so bad, like i honestly dont have fun, whenever i try it, it takes 2 minutes for me to give up, its just so bad.
TLDR; Even if MTG meta dont have any variations outside those 5 decks, it is still at least 25 years ahead of HS at this point. I’ll take 5 decks over having hunters annihilating everything in their path, any day of the week.
I think you just don’t know how to play against Hunter, really. Or just main a class/deck that doesn’t fair well against it. In what world does Hunter dominate meta? I would list Hunter’s weaknesses, but I suck at this game so I’d probably just be saying non-sense.
Edit: Hunter will probably be overshadowed by the more oppressive classes such as Demon Hunter in Ashes of Outland however.
Here is the thing though; i play wild and hunters are the least played class after warriors in wild. Now i dont mean to patronize or insult you with this but why exactly do you think that is? Why, the most played class in standart is the 2nd least played class in wild? Just something to think about.
I dont have any problems beating hunters in wild. Just checking my deck tracker right now, i played 3 games against hunters today, lost 1 of them. Yesterday, 6 games against hunters, 6-0 win rate.
not sure he is even playing
every time someone makes a thread and mention magic and their current or past meta they always avoid answering
most of the time they never post again on the thread
I’m glad you don’t result to insulting me just because you disagree with me. But I think Rogue and Priest are probably the most common, don’t quote me on that though.
Sorry but I tried watching a Magic stream and my eyes glazed over and nearly fell asleep. It probably plays better as a physical game because the digital version had forgettable music, sound and art/animation.
You claim that you like playing control decks, but you also get steamrolled by hunters in standard? What awful sort of control deck can’t beat a Face Hunter? Quest Priest utterly destroys them, and after turn seven they’ve run out of resources and you win. The top four decks right now are Mech Paladin, Res Priest, Dragon Hunter, and Token Druid. Mech Paladin has a higher win rate than Hunter. Every single class, except Mage, has at least a tier two deck.
Ah, i was wondering where the hunter players were
You are not prepared!
Ok, maybe you are. Just a bit… In all seriousness, I hope DH is not over-hyped. I’d hate that my favorite class in WoW is a dud in HS.
I’m actually playing Control Warlock right now, with a pretty hefty mage collection.
Tried Magic (MTGA) and didn’t like it. Found it to be uninspiring, generic (in terms of art and design), and the added complexity did not impress me (I hate rules for rules sake).
But hey, if you liked it why don’t you move there and stop trying to convince people to hate this one?!
At what part in any of my comments have i tried to convince people to hate it? If you are gonna start a fight (like you always do in these forums) at least get your facts straight.
Now, unless you’re the OP (with a different account), this was a reply to that statement.
Maybe you should get your facts straight?!
Battlegrounds are just an easy way, people are complaining, I’m one of the ones I keep playing because honestly this tension, this drama, this high link card nostalgia is what nostalgia me, this profane imbalance is what makes me pleases and want more, with logical moderation;)
