It’s not even really the OTK off the trinkets or the concoction that are troublesome. If you are a really good player and understand interaction there’s infinite loops built into the deck. So you can play it to a point where lethal with it is all but guaranteed outside of some niche situation. It’s hard to pull off without making a mistake but with enough practice it becomes quite easy and the rope is your only real hurdle.
Yes, if you use the armor/draw and other stuff as well it’s awesome. You have a lot of versatility
One thing I’ve learned from the deck is mixologist and griftah are actually fairly strong.
Incorporated them into my DK deck. Don’t need the Chillfallen guys to draw when I can get draw with these guys OR conditional damage/armor.
I had Mixologist in my DK decks since the expansion dropped. That card is insanely good for a mid game tempo swing. So many great combinations. The fact that you get a solid 3 drop body as well as the potion is incredible.
Griftah might actually be a bit too good. The spell for sure is too much for 1 cost. I’m a little torn on the
It’s actually a great tech play to put into a bunch of the current hands. There’s no way they can gamble to play the card. Eats up valuable space and is a nuisance. Especially if you drop a second in hand. I like the idea but man that is pretty toxic.
Yeah if you get that draw 3 it’s crazy because the opponent will absolutely not play it unless they are doing a hail mary.
So it would seem that there might be a pattern emerging in heathstone that having 1 mana damage spells that can be reduced to 0 mana end up creating bad games…
Lightning bolt - nature shaman
Whatever that 1 mana mage spell - concierge
Sonya - anything that does damage that can be 1 mana (lamplighter/griftah whatever)
crescendo - popgar (i know its not 1 mana but it gets to be 0 mana)
The natural reaction would be to stop allowing these 1 mana damage spells to be 0 mana. Instead I assume they’ll go with the discussed in thread pupil nerf.
Most underappreciated prediction of 2024, almost happened exactly the way I said it would:
Saw this from a mile away, whereas devs are much closer to this and are still probably scratching their heads wondering what’s happening?
