Update on Weekly Quests

Why does it matter then what the quests are? You don’t need gold or any of the other rewards track items to play battlegrounds

I still need xp to get gold from the track. So personally I still accept playable quests related to Bgs.
Or simply because I like to play it when I have free time. If you ask other people who like to play Bg, many of them will probably say the same.
And I hope you don’t keep asking questions like “Why do you like playing it?” or “Why do you need gold?”. I feel silly myself if I have to answer these questions.

But why do you need gold? I’m genuinely curious. You don’t use gold in battlegrounds. I don’t understand your thought process

Oh! Do you really have to ask this question?
“What is gold in this game used for?” You’re also playing it, so I think you can completely answer this question yourself.
Sorry I won’t continue to reply anymore. You sympathy.

I spend gold on packs to play ranked because I am interested in ranked. You are not interested in ranked, so gold is useless to you, and your actions are nonsensical

So. New week is here. And the weekly quests are still heavily nerfed, and bot friendly. Yea.

The new quests even with the extra XP feel awful.
More like a chore than actually having Fun.
And that IS coming from someone like me that normally completes all quests every week

Is it intended that mana spent in BGs doesn’t count toward the Spend 750 Mana weekly quest? I thought BG mana-spend used to count, but maybe I’m confused.

Yes, it is still bad… mainly now when half of games are stupid warrior… 10 games played and only 1 win… gj developers on that one too… I am on a complete lose streak and want me to win 10 games… I know it can be completed for 7 days… but still… who the hell wants to play until this insane unbalance exist again? Not fun… we are not entertained… DO SOMETHING EFFECTIVE to Brann and Reno!

you dont spend mana in BG…you spend gold

this weekly quest debacle is such an example of blizz communication skills.
what have they said about this in the past month: oops, sorry, we only meant to double it.

And some bs about needing to collect more data, not being able to revert changes because they feel bad about breaking our trust, company is a joke.

Why can’t they just say they can’t implement chained quests like they do for events because of management, just throw them under the bus, it’s not like the fans don’t already hate those guys.

The quests change is just another incentive for people to bot.

So after a couple of weeks trying to complete the new weekly quests, I am thoroughly disappointed. One of the original criteria of the new rewards track was that players would continue to earn the same amount of gold (or more) with the same game play style and frequency. And after a few early adjustments, this commitment seemed to hold true.

Until now.

With the introduction of the quest adjustments, I have found that in order to complete some of the weekly quests, I have to significantly change how I play. I am still able to complete the 10 wins quest by Sunday with my same play frequency, so no issue for me there. However, there are some weeklies that I simply cannot complete through normal game play. Quests like “Play 32 Minis” or “Play 75 Battlecries” have forced me to create decks loaded with cards that satisfy those requirements and play out a bunch of Casual mode games on Sunday night, because I’m just not able to complete those quests over the normal course of gameplay throughout the week. And those Casual games, with a deck crafted just for quest completion, are simply not fun. They are a tedious chore.

This is completely counter to that core principle of the new rewards track that players would earn the same amount of gold with the same play frequency and style. And what does Blizzard have to say about that? Absolutely nothing. After Ridiculous Hat tried to assure us that they’d be making further adjustments to the quests, nothing has happened. And after he also assured us that they’d be working hard to regain the trust of the players, he’s been completely silent on the issue for nearly a month. Ridiculous Hat is not part of the solution. He’s the essence of the problem.

You don’t have to complete the quests, & you can reroll the ones that are not convenient.

how do youknow they havent told us about the changes yet

all we know is they are working on them

Dev Comment: As we continue iterating on our progression system, and our communications around it, we’re working on some updates that didn’t quite make it into this patch. Our next Weekly Quest update is planned for the next scheduled client patch, Patch 29.4.2.

How hard is it to say sorry we tried to screw you over, here are our plans for the weekly quests.

They can’t even comment on their plans because they will be a net loss as far as time invested, lemme guess, 150% time investment for 115% of the reward or some bs.

I wish they could come up with an explanation as to why they made this genius quest change to begin with, while they’re at it, maybe they can also explain their need to keep designing “I win” cards

The changes happened weeks ago, troll.

So, you ARE a Blizzard employee. Otherwise, you wouldn’t know.

there is something called patch notes which normal people read

and the community manager posts regularly on reddit

were told about changes coming

there will be changes and they will be clear improvements from the current quests - a reversion wouldn’t repair player trust with the folks who were hurt by the changes, but would take something away from those who have benefited. instead, we want to stick with the goal of “make the weeklies more meaningful/rewarding” while removing the giant time gate that players have very clearly vocalized as a problem.

We were repeatedly lied to over and over again during the past years. There is no reason to believe anything at this point.

So until it actually happens, we clearly don’t know. Only Actibliz people do, company boy.
