The Battle.net client does not see an update for Hearthstone, even after I click Options -> Check for Update, but when I click Play, the game loads only far enough to give the message Closed! Hearthstone has been updated! Please download the latest version. When I click, the game then closes.

Hey there,
I’d normally start by checking the system clock:
- Right-click the system click
- Select adjust date/time
- Slide the bars for time/timezone automation to the left, then back right
- Click “Sync Now”
If the problem persists beyond that, reinstalling the Battle.net application would be the next to-do.
