Uncraftable Card Rewards Need to Go

I’ve been playing hearthstone almost every day since Beta (yep that long). I’ve achieved high legend as an FTP player countless times in Standard and Wild, and i’ve seen this game cycle through the highs and lows season after season. I can say without a doubt that the current rewards track over the last year is the worst its ever been, capped by uncraftable after uncraftable cards constantly being offered on the rewards track. The key to building competitive decks is having the flexibility to disenchant cards when necessary for dust - when that option isn’t available, and the card is not part of a deck that is either competitive or enjoyable to play, it is essentially a useless reward. Optionality is the key to success in hearthstone - when that is taken away, players are not setup for success and can become demoralized. From my perspective, if you gain experience points, they should translate into some incremental benefit that can be used immediately at your own discretion, but the current reality is that an uncraftable card that will not be played and is not disenchantable feels like wasted experience points that might never be reclaimed again. Why not give us the option to disenchant? We’ve earned that right as players given the experience points we’ve earned…

I like free undustable legendary, even if they are bad.

For some people they are just “400 dust”, because they aren’t meta, so they would like to dust them.
For other people they are free cards, which is good since there are way to many legendary cards nowdays.

I can craft any tier1 deck you can name and I have never dusted a legendary that didn’t offer a full refund, nor an epic.

because they aren’t gifting us 400 dust, but legendary cards.
They can gift us these cards because they know we can’t gain dust from them; it’s a trade off and I like it.

Just like standard packs or year of the X packs: they can gift us many of these because they don’t contain the latest expansion cards

I read this is as less value, particularly in the context of how the reward system was for 5+ years. During that time, when Blizzard rewarded cards, they were almost all dustable (legendary through common). The player had the choice to take their reward as they would like, via card or dust - now they can’t. It’s not about whether dusting is smart or not, but about letting the player decide how they want to use the experience points that they’ve earned, instead of having the choice made for them via an uncraftable card.

Bottom line is net net you’re worse off than you were before because you have less options to redeem your grind experience the way you would like.

this is not true at all:

  • cthun wasn’t dustable
  • galakrond wasn’t dustable
  • kaeltas and other free legendary cards aren’t dustable

now we are getting free random legendary cards that are dustable.

The only undustable cards are the “free for all” ones. See them like a “core set extension”: they are a bonus, since we never got them before.
Golden commons/rares/epics are a new thing too, so we aren’t losing dust by not being able to dust them.

If the overall gold gained from the reward path isn’t reduced due to free cards, then I think free cards are welcomed

I don’t want a free card I will never use but some people do. Id even take an option of the free card or half its dust value. A garbage card with a gold border is not a reward.
