You need not make a new thread about it.
You can just edit the original one and change Multiplayer Discussion → Community Discussion.
I think at least. I tried it on one of my own old threads and it seems to work.

I just pressed the edit button on my opening comment on an old thread and it let me change it to Community Discussion directly. (and the thread had replies also)

Well if i go to an old thread i made and press the edit button on the opening comment it lets me change the text obviously, but it also lets me change category, title, tags etc.
If you try and edit your opening statement on this thread doesn’t it also allow you to change the category from Community Discussion to something else

Because that’s what i am advising you to do on the other one (Multiplayer Discussion) to not lose the replies.
