See, this is what grinds my gears. DK got a full on supported archetype despite the 3 Rune restrictions.
Considering the cards power levels, anyone could understand that Blizzard is actually willing of supporting the Plague archetype more in the future.
On the other hand, the Ra-den, Automaton archetype is dead from the get-go, because the cards are too weak TOGETHER to be an above Tier 3-4 deck, while Plague will thrive in Tier 1-2 (It will just be an iteration of Triple Unholy but with Plague cards).
But that just shows that they are capable of such thing (creating an actually strong new archetype), they just don’t want to. All DK got was 3 cards (only counting the Unholy ones) and because of their Power level, people will start calling “The Triple Unholy Deck” → “The Plague Deck” because it will be the stronger and more dominant win condition for Triple Unholy.
This is what other classes needed. Cards that support an already existing archetype but bring in a new and exciting way to play the deck as will Plague → Triple Unholy
But there won’t be such a thing as Automaton → Control Priest. So you are bound to just play the same Board Clear Priest deck without any new or exciting things added.
Hopefully Ra-den can somewhat change the Control Priest archetype but i’m questioning if it will be the most optimal Control Priest deck. (while for Triple Unholy Plagues will become the most optimal Triple Unholy deck)
I hate most of the cards you mentioned. I like Sargeras, interesting card and eye-catching.
Also, this expansion will not bring the end of Hearthstone. Try Yu-gi-oh for some time, not rookie level, I’m talking meta decks, then we can talk about op nonsense.
Ra-den, on the other hand, most certainly will be. WAY too many people are overlooking this minion. He’s amazing and I can’t see why people can’t see that.
People don’t see it, because the effect happens on Deathrattle. I kinda wish he was 7 or 8 mana with the same effect, as Battlecry. Moreover he is a card that its Power Level can only be understood if you play with it, so only thing we can do is wait.
The only interesting cards (from the ones you mentioned) are:
souleater’s scythe (which created a toxic deck)
Nozdormu
Murozond
Back on your titans will bring the end of Hearthstone subject.
You dislike titans I see them as the planeswalker version of Hearthstone.
Also, I think it’s good most of the neutral cards are bad, will bring some more depth to classes. I don’t see what’s fun about broken neutrals that are auto-include in most classes. I dislike Astalor and Theotar because they were in pretty much in every deck when they released (for a long time), I don’t want cards like that. Broken legendaries should not be neutral
I dislike the lack of creativity on the cards effects. When you hear Titans you expect an Old God type of effect, something completely new, not this.
Also don’t even compare Titans to Plainswalkers. Only thing they have in common is their 3 abilities on 1 card design, which Blizzard clearly stole.
Other than that Plainswalkers in MTG actually have more depth in their design, than these silly “Good Card Titans”.
It’s not most though. It’s every single one. Their power level is so low that they won’t replace any existing neutrals that are run now.
And if that’s the case, then what is even the point of releasing Neutrals if they won’t be used?
E.T.C, Fizzle, Pozzik are not broken but they are competitive enough to be put on decks. There is always a middle ground.
These Neutrals are both bad and boring. If you are gonna make the Neutrals weak at least give them an interesting effect like “Mogu Cultist”. It should be one or the other at least!
I really wanted overheal to be a thing and it’s, sadly, not. I thought that was a really good use of priest identity. I think they should have had overheal go into a shield, like armor points for your minions!
That’s what it should have been imo as well. One minion I always thought was cool class identity was Amet. He gives other minions you summon a copy of his health. Of course, DS/IF combo really limited the health buffs they could give Priest minions so they couldn’t pursue it more for fear of making things broken. IF shouldn’t have even been designed the way it is. It ruined all future development for minion health.
But yes, overheal gives you a mini shield like armor. That’s what Priest is supposed to do. Make their minions resilient, but not Divine Shield resiliency. Health resilient.
I could argue with the future tense here instead of the past one, especially in light of the discontinuation of Classic — the last nail in the coffin, if you will.
Sadly i was hoping they were going to create them like Planeswalkers but in the end they are very far from what a Planeswalker is. They had a way to make them like that but they chose the path of laziness.
Exactly, maybe it would have been better to tone down their abilities but make them more sticky on the board like Plainwalkers. Right now they are just your basic minion.
To be fair there probably were better ways to go than create hearthstone versions of planeswalker.
Atleast before the expansion was revealed i always did imagine they as those beings from the start of creation that just play by their own rules.
Having that simbolized by start of game effects that affect both players.
Basically their mere presence would change the laws of reality.
It’s to catch the attention of gullible people like you.
As mentioned above on the replies the title is only meant to grab attention. Are you just gonna blindly defend Blizzard, or do you have anything constructive to say on the matter?
Things like Hearthstone do not go out with a bang, but with a whimper. Meaning, hearthstone will just fade into obscurity over time, its unlikely one event or release cycle will result in its dissappearence.
Hearthstone already long ago extricated itself from any possible competitive scene as soon as they went whole hog and leaned into their RNG far too much and printed Yogg and ran it at its highest competitve level. The game has never recovered from this since. They’ve fairly recently admitted defeat on this front and almost completely defunded the competitive hearthstone scene.
