This Meta is Dull

Honestly this meta is so boring.

It’s all death by turn 6 mindless aggro and which deck can snowball the other fastest.

Undead priest, pure paladin, mech paladin are all obnoxious and just vomit out sticky boards which you either can’t remove or the reload is so broken that removal actually doesn’t matter.

Frost Dk and undead priest are arguably worse as they have cards that both deal face damage whilst clearing the board or discovering resource (which is insane). Yes frost DK got a nerf but it’s still oppressive.

You know by turn 2/3 whether you’ve lost or won.

I’d like to be able to be play a control or combo deck and have fun.

Death by turn 6 every game is really really boring.

Last I checked there were good quality options for both…

If you’re just going to hero power and pass for five turns, I get it.

Every single tier 1 deck is aggro.

“Great options for combo and control” no, there aren’t.

Blood DK is at absolute best a 50% win rate same with control priest.

I haven’t seen a combo deck at all, maybe warlock?

If they changed about five cards it would really open up more decks. Some classes obviously would be still bad but there’s a couple decks knocking on the door being held back by a few OP cards.

Have you seen what pure pala has on board turn 5? Or do tou die turn 4?

Or, you can play a deck with an early game and play for the board, which is quite fun, tbh.

I mean, there’s lots of back and forth being played in this meta… but not if your plan is “wait till you see my end game!!!” because then you never get there.

im playing control big paladin

Do you consider the zok/tony druids to be combo? They seem to improve in the competitive ranks.

Not sure where you play your games, mate. Maybe ur meta is not suitable for it, don’t know.

Back and forth my rear end. Turn1 divine shield or 2/1 with plebs deathrattle. Turn 2 hammer. Turn 3 finale and pull more divine shield. Buff buff buff refresh shield swing hammer face and plop out some 5/5 taunts for free.

This the interacting on board you talk about?

Did they get rid of Anub’rekhan without me noticing or something?

Played 10 games this morning.

Mech paladin x3
Pure paladin x2
Totem shaman x2
Frost DK x 3

Not one of these games went beyond turn 6. Fun

I think it depends on your deck more than what they play.

You are aware that paladin does not win every game, right?

What you might not know is that they lose when you can keep them off the board and chip their face, then close with burst.

Clearly, this is not your deck with the struggles you describe.

Then your deck sucks. Clearly you lack the early tools to live long enough to use any later plays you were hoping to pull off.

Maybe you’re playing the match ups wrong.
It’s not all about what your deck can do, its about how to counter some plays of the opponent on certain turns so you disable their big swing turn.|

Maybe you’re holding minions for a battlecry which is usefull but too late in game to be usefull.
Play these minions on curve without their effec against these aggro decks so you can trade in minions ect.

Maybe you have a too greedy own made deck that just doesn’t work.
Try readjusting some cards for more early board clear.

My guess is you play matchups wrong and mulligan the wrong cards.

I didn’t lose or win all of those matches.

None of the decks are unbeatable but they are boring to play and play against which is my issue.

the meta is boring because by now we all know, maybe someone doesn’t want to admit it because if he has spent thousands of dollars over the years on hearthstone he would no longer be able to look in the mirror, that it is all in the hands of an AI without any of us having much to do do, the huge amount of “fake random” actions inserted in the cards allow blizzard to continuously map what happens and manage everything by manipulating the fake randomness, whoever pays certainly gets a boost and whoever doesn’t pay suffers

You’re a pepega if you think people that paid have “Better chances” discovering & higher changes on random effects.

Or am I reading this wrong?

tell me which tool in standard that removes a 4/3 reborn deathrattle deal 3 to your face twice

which gets reloaded next turn as a two 4/3 deal 3 damage to face whch also activate deal 4 damage to your board and face… and 1 mana draw 2…

no the answer to undead priest is to play a deck that also wins on turn 6 and prey you draw better !!

the only back and forth I am seeing is people hitting each other in the face

Silence. Starfish obviously is a tool, and there’s a nice “big hunter” deck that is running starfish since it meshes well against such decks. Card is neutral if you ever want to run it in other classes.

You can also run control priest and pop a silence on all their deathrattles and reborns etc. Even sports healing when you dont draw it.

There’s transform effects like hex, primordial wave etc. Secret rogue can stuff a minion into a bag, mage can objection one of them, maybe polymorph.

Blood DK still out healing whatever garbage aggro decks are spewing.

Frost DK can just freeze the board and ignore all of that.

Remember when zilliax was a premium anti aggro card that saw play in almost every deck. Now it’s barely playable unless you’re playing mech based deck.

This is just power creep, and yes it IS a bad thing… There’s just too many powerful low mana minions right now that are for the most part sticky or easily replenishable. Team 5 don’t have the talent to rectify the power creep situation due to the pressure of release deadlines that need to have playable cards. The baffling decision to buff 20 cards and only nerf 4 in the first set of the rotation only highlights their stupidity.

Can’t wait for expansion 3 where you’re lucky to survive turn 4.

Works just fine in Menagerie decks too. You can just magnetize him to like, a buffed Amalgam or something.
