This game is bad for the soul

Dude, just look at the leaderboards.

Nope, i want you to name these people since you said they are always in legend.

Ice, Jarla, Matthew and Photon are somewhat consistently in the top 100 in the americas. Ice is literally consistently in the top 100. If the game is entirely random and skill doesn’t matter, this should be impossible.

I should apologize. I thought you were saying they are there because of cheating. Though you won’t easily convince these people because they may come back with “but those are the people who pay Blizzard!” (or are favored otherwise by them (supposedly)).

I have against opponents with the same class and same META decks, either they win or I win based on the luck of the draw.

4 people? LOL WOW its a nice example

i don’t even disagree with this thread and i was the dreamer who thought up the last many expansions mostly. It is basically simulated violence but abstracted to a card game, so like all simulated violence or real life competitions there’s winners and losers and sometimes losing feels bad and sometimes winning feels bad too for me at least. Maybe I had a negative influence on the game, I am a pretty bad person spiritually I guess.

I believe youre giving your best to improve something…and maybe because someone was able to have that simulated outlet for conflict(not always violence), maybe, it was enough to prevent them from finding that outlet somewhere irl.

And eliminating bad irl conflicts before they ever happen, even unknowingly, doesnt seem like a bad thing in any sense or spirit imho, but im also a bit of a dreamer.

Also…people under 30 for the most part have no fkin clue what they really want or whats best for them. Try to keep that in mind for when it applies.

Remember the first rule of gambling.

The house always wins.

If it bothered the devs that they can’t balance their cards, their matchmaking, or their metas, we’d have seen more intentional improvements with card design. Instead its the same “over the top” card effects and empty promises of “the board matters!”. The board hasn’t mattered in years. It’s been the same strategy, play one or two cards that sweep the opponent’s field, smash face. Rinse and repeat. When you have cards that get nerfed 3, 4, 5 times (looking at you Zilliax), it is living proof they don’t play test or balance their games.

In today’s world, we have AI at our finger tips. Blizzard is a big enough company with enough money the could have an AI run all the computations of plays for every expansion throughout their design stages and see how lob-sided the meta will be before they produce the cards. They just don’t.

So enjoy your gambling, but remember, the whole game is designed to get you to spend money, not to win.

Don’t speak of technology you don’t understand. AI (in the form that exists today) is completely dysfunctional replacing the full job of a Statistician doing that sort of thing. Tell them to hire better developers instead of relying on stories you heard from Hollywood.

Not hearing any “stories” from Hollywood. I’m not saying that there is software out there right now they can just purchase and it does the job. They would have to hire on contractors to create software that runs the computations and extrapolates what the outcomes would be from the data sets. The software would do it much faster, and much more accurately than the methods they are currently employing.

You still try to conjure stories because you don’t understand the industry. No “contractor” has to be hired, just a programmer doing that work.

This kid know everything. Every topic of this forum he or she, have a opinion that is the correct. I believe he or she have 16 yrs old at max.
