I’ve been doing some research on the current inns and outs of standard, writing down who the biggest monsters in the playground are and how to dress for them and I think I’ve finally found the most Tactical-Anti-Reno-Deck I can assemble.
There are two main strats in this TARDy deck, the first is using dangerous cliffsides to build into wave of nostalgia. The second is more amusing and dare I say “Fun” where you use hagatha to slime wish upon a star, shudderblock the slime, and use zola the gorgon to give another slime for a total of +12/+18 to all your minions globally! If they’re somehow still alive, or if they DARE to Lone Ranger Reno you after the grand reveal, you can now giggle like a little girl because one space is all you need for Al akir to finish the job. The paparazzis are for potential extra shudders, Zolas, or an Incindius if you see it. Question the Hot Potato ETC on my ETC band, he’s the failed target of the last Fun idea I was working on. Oct 4 update: WELL the results are conclusive, Hot potato ETC is Hot trash. The tests showed that he made 80% of situations worse or was less than helpful, so I turned him into steak and put a panda with glasses in instead.
Update with Mulligain advice cuz Duke made me feel like I didn’t do enough: Above all else You want Hagatha as early as possible shudderblock isn’t as much of a top priority for starting hand compared to hagatha. As long as you can play his mini at least once sooner or later jepto can call him back and serve his TRUE purpose but he’s come in clutch when used with paparazzis for me a few times. Paragliders an auto keep regardless of position, same with cliffsides. I got fed up with drawing the big spells too early so now there’s overplanners to try to fix that. Hold onto your volcano or gifts if you feel a flood coming. Cookie is handy to have early on but not mandatory by any means. Lina + slime is oddly more effective than I thought, Thank the duke for telling me I accidentally made a rainbow deck without realizing it, now you get Razzle Dazzles, Jepto + excavate and Dungar too are now in the deck as “backup win conditions” And lastly ETC is ETC, size up your opponent and use your own judgment on if you need your Silver Bullets ASAP or not. Justicar and the extra heals are the “Renehal fluff” I wanted to throw in, not mandatory, strictly a luxury.

Stupid website isn’t letting me post the updated deck code cause apparently a bad word was in the text vomit, sorry for the inconvenience
Full disclosure, the one thing in standard I have not figured out how to stop with this deck is Secret Hunter, but I would like to imagine nobody plays that past a certain rank and in case anyone is wondering the S. S. In the name did not have any intended meaning behind it, I made the deck while listening to a Backrooms explained video. But if you’re OCD like me, the S. S. can stand for Star Slime, Shudderblock Spam, or Strange Shaman. Take your pick. Funny sidenote: Shudderblock + Dreamplanner Zephrys on attack together “Calloh! Callay! More wishes? No way!” And a summary of this deck in action acted out by Tom and Jerry
