Now there is literally no counterplay to brann and reno
Who thought making the no duplicate requirement a start of game effect was a good idea??? It being an ongoing deck check meant you could shuffle stuff into their deck to prevent them using those cards. Now you cant even use plagues to stop the BS if you tried. Its guaranteed double battlecry from turn 6 with no way to stop it

That + the weekly quest nerfs. Congrats on further giving me 0 reason to play this trash game. Brann was already broken enough to make me stop playing until this patch, the patch just made it worse

Reno is fine. And it’s honestly a wash between buff and nerf, but probably more a nerf. Having to have only 1 of every card is a nerf.
The problem with War is Brann and TNT.
Don’t really know how to fix Brann. So much value there. Should probably cost 7+ instead of 6.
For TNT dude, I really like someone else’s suggestion that it should be a death rattle effect instead of battlecry. At least you would have an opportunity to do something about it instead of preying Dirty Rat gets him.

The only HL deck that’s broken is War (and it’s not because of Reno). Its the same as before, it’s just everything else got nerfed, so now War is really oppressive.
Before the HL nerf, most wars were able to get Brann out before you could get duplicate plagues in their deck, so plague rarely stopped them anyways.

Honestly… good. This game is terrible and so is its playerbase. Constant complaining about almost nothing. The games meta looks worse each patch and it is all due to constant complaints of players to “prideful” to play real decks. There is no card game format in any ccg that allows fun, slow and niche decks to be winnable. Go create a fun MTG arena deck and have fun losing 100% of your matches. Go play Yugioh and have your board locked and face 6+ negates turn one. Go play pokemon and use your niche favorite one and lose every game to Charizard ex of Lugia Vstar. This community would never survive a real card game.
Guess im glad yall can whine and complain your way to get your hombrewed bad deck to 40% win rate.

I mean they could have raised Brann mana cost to 7 or 8 (same as Reno got a 1 mana nerf)… idk why they didn’t.
Mana isnt the problem. Its the effects that are the issue. You could make both 10 mana and theyd still be obnoxious to face. They need to stop designing cards that just do stuff with no way to react as an opponent
Am i expected to just never play for board because of the consistent threat of reno??? Its a board based card game that makes me not want to develop a board. That is a fundamental failure of design
Twisting nether is 8 mana destroy yours and your opponents board
Reno is 1 more mana, clears only the opponents board, ‘clears’ not destroys so doesnt trigger DR effects, clears things such as locations, locks their board out for an entire turn, gives you 5 armor and an overstatted hero power. Its the ultimate swing tool. You clear your opponents entire strategy and stop them from developing anything the next turn whilst you continue to play whatever you want. All whilst the opponent has to just accept it because there is 0 counterplay
Being a highlander deck isnt even a weakness anymore. You have cards like ETC and fizzle to get you extra copies of key cards. There are multiple discover options like garrosh’s gift to get extra copies of brawl or shield block. Double battlecrys essentially make every minion in your deck act like theyre played twice anyway. Zilliax summoning the copy for 2x the lifesteal, or with brann 3x zilliax

I mean…yeah, I agree. But we live in this current reality, not a better and more balanced one…just gotta make do. If a wrong choice must be made/had…at least we can mitigate it (with mana nerf).
agree. so much for player agency. there is no way anyone could deal with these highlander cards now.
HL druid can …more problem zilliax first 3 is ok but when 7/7 mech summon 4 and hit charge thats hard stuff 10/7 warrior i beat after patch whit druid once is out deck i have 43 card left still ^^ and more fun time when is play brann i copy it brewmaster take bk to me hand and next turn is on play hihi

Highlander Warrior is the worst thing to play against, it’s super fun drawing 6 TNTs because Brann can trigger regardless. Stall warrior has never been fun to play against, now it’s just torture knowing you can never win the late game.

I know it takes about 5000 hours to train these bird heads. Because they don’t have sensitive intelligence. They also don’t know that card play shouldn’t be done so many turns that it feels like a pointless activity.
It’s not just that, it’s also the fact they get double excavates, double azarite bulls, double all the 8 costs, double the forge weapon. They said in the developer notes they want to tone down the board wipes and clears, but have made it absolutely necessary to run all of those.

“We hear everyone hates this new card so we’re gonna make it cost the same as shudderwock and remove the one thing you coulda done to try to disarm it before it gets played. What do you mean ‘we didn’t fix player agency at all?!’” As someone from Dalaran Heroic mode they already have a solution to this in solo! JUST MAKE ANOTHER “ALL Minions are silenced” or straight up make a “battlecries can’t happen while this is alive” card if they want us to have “control over the match”

Big shock, remove the one thing gate keeping a deck from have no counters and suddenly it creep on the 65%+.
Guess it’s back to hyper face aggro.

According to hsreplay spell token hunter went from ~ 65% win pre-patch to 71% post patch. It was already the best deck and it got the smallest nerf out of every deck. Jungle gym is still strong despite the nerf and nothing else of theirs got touched. Meanwhile every other meta deck got hit hard, some to the point where they’re unplayable.
