This is you and your friends deflection from literally everything the company does wrong, any criticisms of it, and is factually wrong in all cases.
And of course, for those paying attention: once again another ad hominem when they can’t actually respond to the topic just to distract from the fact there is literally no long term loyalty reward for customers, while they continue to toss out freebie after freebie (that requires no investment of any kind) for people who left the game ages ago.
And that’s pretty much all they announced: a tweak for a sub mode. Nothing for actual hearthstone that isn’t old news.
I vehemently disagree with most of the people you’re lumping me in with except when it comes to you, my dude. Like, it isn’t that I like or support blizzard as much as you’re consistently just wrong and misguided.
This thread is a prime example of you just ignoring everything that doesn’t fit your narrative to attack everyone that you disagree with, which is definitionally trolling.
Has the gall to call literally EVERYONE who dares disagree with his blind support of his corporate overlords here a troll…the standard MO of the actiblizz defense force.
Most of us are actually having a civil discussion, even if we are disagreeing; the only odd one out here is you.
I’ve been very critical of blizzard here on the forums when, in my opinion, they’ve earned it. I just don’t think they’re wrong on this topic or that their game is rigged, which seems to be your raison d’etre.
But you only see what you want to see, so it’s really not productive to continue to engage with you.
Keep telling yourself that. I don’t see too many people rushing to anyone’s defense here and our best friend Mal will likely not be back for some time.
Hey Neon, DO NOT feed him that much. He is growing bigger and bigger evrytime you react to him. It is really pointles, futile even. I just poke at him from time to time to check if that thing is still alive and let him be. It is fun from time to time.
Do you really think, someone who has been playing say 1 year or 5 years
, is going to say wow they should add a reward for playing 10 years. Its not like he asked for a reward for players who names start with “mal”
as I understand it they are giving us 10 variable packs,
so if you are not a current customer you will get 50 cards in each pack, if you are a current customer you will get 5 cards per pack, which then allowing for duplicates I might get 1 new card, wooohoo. I don’t believe this new style of pack has gold cards so all I can hope for is a legendary or epic card I don’t have.
They are rewarding new customers with lots of cards and existing customers with their 100th or 90th card back. I hope it looks nice.
In wow terms it’s like saying we are giveing 50 pets to every player, but it turns out that is every pet from elywynn forest.
It sounds good and it helps new players but anyone who has been playing for a while gets effectively almost nothing.
Exactly my point. He believes he is entitled to a reward for being around 10 years. It’s the name of the thread they started. I am not suggesting Mal would be unhappy to see everyone get extra stuff, but this thread is specific to his situation and those that share it.
Names that start with Mal might actually benefit more people.
Well the tricky part is that value is truly subjective. What cost will you pay to get something that you want? That’s completely a personal, subjective decision. And as I alluded to earlier, by “cost” I mean how much of your time, because it’s going to cost you time to acquire value (or someone else’s time, if it’s given to you or stolen).
Life is about spending your life to get things you want. At some point you have no more cost to give and all that’s left is what you’ve bought with it. Some of these things can be bought with money but with some only your time is currency.
But I digress. In practice value is kinda like survey results. With a survey you ask a lot of people subjective questions and you get subjective answers, but the data you get forms an objective result — for example, a certain percentage of Americans are Christians or whatever and that percentage is objective. In a similar way, if you’re making ten thousand widgets, what happens is roughly equivalent to if you polled everyone in the market on how much they’d be willing to spend on a widget, sorted from highest to lowest, and looked at what the ten thousandth survey result said that they would pay. It’s an objective collective result formed from a large number of subjective individual results.
But I simply can’t agree that time invested in a game is valuable. Maybe it WAS valuable, at the time of play experience, to the player. But now that value has dissipated, like all nonmaterial values have a strong tendency to do.
Just not HERE, where you’ve quite literally trolled HARD for them, and had the audacity to engage in the very behavior you want to whinge about others doing.
“Accuse others of the very behavior you engage in.”
It’s a tired tactic, but one from a playbook that won’t be discontinued any time soon. Especially those who like to play the victim card and defend scummy mega corps, corrupt politicians, and similar groups of people.
Like the guy calling people “trolls” and much worse who literally posted everything I quoted in my last post and more on this very thread. Very much a “more fingers pointing back” situation.
*your
but I’m sure since you took a stand here for the company and started name calling, you’ll get some friends before long.
Oh look, right on cue. More off topic spam trolling.
This. Geez, even the bread stores give you a punch card for being a repeat customer, and some places toss in something extra just because.
But OH NOES, the poor multibilion dollar company will go KAPUT if it actually does something for the long time people who have been keeping the lights on!
Meanwhile: “hey people who ditched the game, want EVEN MOAR FREE STUFF?! WE’RE LITERALLY GIVING AWAY TWO AND A HALF MEGA BUNDLES WORTH OF CARDS, PREMIUM DECKS, AND CATCH UP PACKS BECAUSE YOU TOLD US TO TAKE A HIKE!”
Only in that some value their time more than others.
From the company’s perspective: they value the time of those who left the game more than those who have stuck with it this whole time.
It kept the game going, made money for the company, and if that point wants to be debated…kept these people employed. If they don’t see value in that, then we are truly wasting our time supporting this game, and we really should find a better game and dev team that actually values us as customers.
This is just a flawed premise. Regular non leaving players get a free pack every week alone from tavern brawl, also end of month prizes for any ranks earned in constructed, prizes from XP Tracks, from achievements, from logging in at all. ALL YEAR LONG. Add all of that up that required no money exchanged ever. Now take that sum, and offer it as a “WELCOME BACK” enticement prize for previous players that havent logged in for X amount of time. They didnt get anything the regulars havent already been getting, the only difference is that they got it all at once.
To use your analogy of the multibillion dollar company going kaput if it does soemthing for the long term players, well, if that were true then there wouldnt be all the freebies every week, every month, every expansion, every reward track. Then, you might have been onto something. But as it is, you just conveniently ignore what doesnt support your preconceived worldview.
Having something to celebrate old players is alright and something many games do. Many other games, however, only mark older players by their possession of older stuff and everyone gets the same thing at the same time.
I can understand Mall’s query, but really, it’s no big deal either way.
I’ve been playing 8 years and I have 180 cardbacks, the vast majority of which I got just from playing the game f2p. If you’ve been playing 10 years you probably have most of the same ones and many of them aren’t available to earn or even pay for anymore. I think that’s plenty.
This is a violation of the CoC and I am … kidding.
I wonder if everyone’s favorite forum curmudgeon will ever get to post again. I’m so sad there aren’t three posts a day claiming victimhood for this or that imagined transgression… said no one.
That would be a nice reward. But it seems that Blizzard isn’t really to motiviated to reward loyatly, and are more inclinded to give stuff to F2P players.
