Ten Years: Where my Card Back?

I have been here since the beginning, and I don’t honestly believe a day
has gone by without logging in to this game.
I know I cannot be alone in hoping that players who have spent a decade playing this game are rewarded in some small way.

Or a random Diamond Card!

Blizzard should definitely be paying your therapy bills at this point

I would settle for a card back.
Purple is my signature color:)

I said this in the other thread: wow players got the ugly orc statue (boo); hearthstone players who have been here since the beginning should get an equally large garish hearthstone cardback (legend) to place on the shelf.

I would be down for that, but my ideal would be a card back that marks just how much time We vets have sunk into this product and it’s continued success.

This sounds like a job for the “why not both?” kid!

Garish legend cardback statues and in old timers game cardbacks for everyone!*

idk for sure. I know there are quite a few of us here, but most no longer post regularly anymore.
When I started there were no cardbacks but one.
Also? Card packs were called “expert packs” lol.

They reward people that leave for an extended amount of time but no reward for long time players of hearthstone. It’s pretty dumb.

… ingame events, reward track items, etc are all rewards for people who play.

I also don’t understand why anyone is upset that the game is trying to make it easier for people to start or return to the game. More players is usually a better thing for everyone.

The sense of entitlement is heavy here.

I’m not trying to do that. But I do believe in rewarding long time players as well.
We have kept this game alive, and it would be nice to see that recognized/rewarded.

We had back to back events that gave skins, packs, etc. and just got a card back last week. The people not playing got none of this.

This is not enough?

I’m not sure I follow that line of reasoning.
But; to illustrate my point.
Many phone companies go out of their way to attract new customers and yet, I had to fight just to get a reduction for one month on my bill after being a loyal customer for over 15 years with a perfect payment record.
(the carrier shall remain nameless).
It would not hurt hearthstone one bit to recognize it’s veteran players, and the good will might just pay dividends in terms of older players spending again.
I know I would want to return the favor If I honestly thought that Activision appreciated our years of loyalty, even a little.

… You don’t understand how in game events are additional free rewards for current players? Seems like it’s self explanatory.

No, what I don’t understand is why people who don’t play at all would be
given more incentives and rewards than long time players get.
Neither practice hurts this company one bit.
The world has reached a sorry state when the drippings it would cost for a bit of good will are too much for a corporation as wealthy as Activision.

And they are not given more in any real sense. The idea that they get more is a false understanding of what we are getting for just showing up and playing the game.

I have opened way more than 150 packs as F2P over the last year. I got skins, emotes, bg boards, card backs, custom coins, custom bar tenders, bg strikes of several rarities, and more. People who stopped playing or are new to the game got none of this.

This idea that blizzard is cheating current players is an awful sense of entitlement and it’s destructive.

Excuse me, but I don’t feel cheated by Activision: (Blizzard is dead, lets be realistic here.)
when they go out of their way to try and attract new business.
But; I would like to see players, who have been here every day for a decade, to be rewarded for that loyalty to the game.

… I literally just showed you that you are. I gave you a pretty long list showing how current players are getting more for free than lapsed or new ones.

You are ignoring, intentionally or otherwise, the plethora of free gifts that they shower on us nearly daily.

What you are seeing is that lapsed players are getting a bundle of packs at once instead of seeing that I open 100+ free packs each expansion without even considering all the cosmetics. That’s 300+ packs a year just for free from just playing the game in my free time.

You act like the reward track, the tavern brawl packs, the free cosmetcs, etc are nothing… they are what they hand out to reward loyal customers and they are more generous than they have ever been.

Blah. blah. Blah. The game would not exist without us… It would have folded years ago.
Activision can more than afford to thank it’s long time players for ten years of keeping their product in business.
To say otherwise is flatly ridiculous.
They haven’t truly given us anything, as they own everything, and We own nothing.
They get the money AND the ownership. Not a bad hustle.
Anyhow: idc if you feel like Activison is somehow the soul of benevolence.
I disagree.
Have a nice evening.

… no, if you don’t spend money the game would be better if you were not stealing their resources. They’re already developing AI to replace F2P mooches that are never satisfied.

And they are. Like seriously every day you get more free stuff in the game just for showing up and playing.

And to paraphrase you: To contradict that you are getting piles of free stuff is flatly ridiculous.

Then nothing they do will ever be enough because you are only here to complain about literally everything. You were gone for a bit and the forums were so so so so much better day to day without you.

I didn’t say that at all. I said players get piles and piles and piles of free stuff just for showing up and playing the game.

Disputing that fact is ridiculous.

With everything. Because you’re a troll. That’s your only purpose here - to complain and complain and complain.

Touch grass.
