After all the controversy with the new Rewards Tier and Mega Bundle confusion, I had a hope that blizzard would include the Tavernpass. They could have replaced the battlegrounds perks with it and would feel like more of a mega bundle as you get everything for the main game.
This still baffles me and feels like such a kick in the teeth. Pay for 1.5 AAA games and still don’t get all the content. It’s especially redicilous if you consider the battleground perks have no lasting value at all and do not assist you in getting any new cards for the set which is the point of buying the mega bundle.
It would even make sense to include tavern perks with the mega bundle and battlegrounds perks with the regular bundle. This gives you everything for the set if you buy both bundles.
Really makes no sense to me.
Alas I don’t actually buy anything anymore as there is really not much value in buying anything when the next set is just a couple months away.

The Tavern Pass, like the Mega Bundle, is completely optional. I didn’t buy either last time and won’t buy either this time but I will still be able to play the game just fine.
You, too, can simply not buy the Mega Bundle if you don’t feel that enough value is being offered for the price.

I only bought the smaller bundle for Darkmoon Faire. Didn’t need the BG perks.
There’s a case to spend on the first expansion of the year, as the cards will have a longer life in Standard (2 full years, as opposed to 1 year 4 months)

the perks are just a small bonus
They made a lousy addon, Blizzard. All cards will go to the dust bucket!
The price is what it is. If they feel the need to make more appealing their bundles then they will do it. But until then, I recommend you to enjoy what is there for free, which isn’t bad at all.
If you still want an advantage, maybe buy just the tavern-pass, or buy the minibundle and the tavern-pass. Any combination that you can afort and feel good about. But if you really feel that what you get isnt worth your money, then again, there is too little to do. So just enjoy the free stuff.

It is kinda weird that the Tavern Pass and Mega Bundle are two separate things. Of course, no one is stopping you from buying both a Pass and a Bundle. I’m glad that the hero portraits I want are part of the cheaper option.

Including the Tavern pass would make them lose revenue!! As it is, the game is quite expensive so the expansion Bundles are the only money purchases I do.
They are offering the roughly same amount of value for $80 as they did in the past. They are just offering a new product on the side.
Both products are optional. I don’t see the problem.
