I’m mostly a F2P player. I don’t care very much about cosmetics, but I’ll spend a little money here and there for adventures and card packs if I think the value is good enough.
That being said, does anyone have a rough idea of how much extra gold you can expect to get by buying the Tavern Pass? I know it’ll vary depending on how much you play, but assume you don’t play a whole lot but still finish all your daily/weekly quests.
Sounds like you are as casual as i am. Tavern pass probably gives 600-1000 gold each expansion cycle. Would be my uneducated, rough guesstimate.
That little, huh? I was hoping for a fair bit more. I wish I had remembered what level I got last expansion; that’d make it a little easier to ballpark what to expect.
It’s clear that if you don’t spend money you are going to “SUFFER!!!”. That’s cool… I play for free and I’ll grind my way back. I’ll admit that it’s discouraging but still a good value for someone that hasn’t paid…A F-ing DIME!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!
My conclusion was that if you do not care about the crappy portraits, the alternate coin card, or the Diamond card animations, and your not going to grind out 250 or more levels, then don’t bother with the pass. Your $20 is better spent elsewhere.

Here is one consideration:
Would getting the diamond Blademaster Sumaro give legendary duplicate protection against getting a normal version of the card?
Your gold gains from it will highly depened on how much you play.
Last season I reached lvl175 with it, which means the pass gave me ~1800 gold extra.
If you reach max level with the pass (400 now (which would have been 350 last season)), the pass would have given you ~97.2k extra xp = ~65 levels = ~3.25k gold, assuming you don’t overshoot at all (since after lvl400 any extra xp is just wasted, so the more you play after lvl400, the less the pass technically gives you, since you would have gained the xp without pass anyway).
The other fringe scenario, where you would juuust barely reach lvl100 without the pass, the pass would give you ~22700 extra xp, which would be lvl116 = 800 extra gold. But this is also an unrealistic scenario, as reaching just lvl100 is very easy and requires almost no play at all. In this case you would be buying the pass to ensure you even reach that lvl100 instead of for extra gold anyway.
So the absolute range for the pass is 800 - 3.2k gold, with the most realistic expectation being in the 1200-2500 range, where the minimum stands for <1h per day of play and max for >4h/day (assuming quest completion in both cases of course (P.S., I did not count gains for playtime, those are just guesstimates)). Reaching max level is unrealistic even with the pass, so “burned xp” is not a real thing to consider.
2k extra gold this season is at lvl251 with pass (211 without), assuming pass is bought at lvl1 (would have been lvl201 last season, since the first 50 are stretched to 100 now). So if you want to get 1 pack/$, aim for lvl250.

Dont do it!!! Just play 2-3 Decks on each Server (USA,Europe,Asia) and all is fine…

Depends on how much time you can play and what you value as good gold/$ ratio. If you can reach 200 level without the Tavern Pass then its worth it (~2.000+ extra gold with the TP). I hit 350 level, with the Tavern Pass, 1 week before the expansion release and for me it translated to ~3.500 extra gold for 20 Euro (plus the cosmetics).
