I’m just curious to see how many people agree/don’t mind paying for the tavern pass every expansion. Here are my thoughts.
The tavern pass costs $20. So throughout the year thats $60, which is a lot for F2P players who really enjoy battlegrounds. Later in the expansion it will most likely drop to $10, giving you a few weeks to utilize the full beta before the next expansion. The tavern pass allows emotes, two extra hero options, and the utilization of newer battleground heros. To some the tavern pass really allows you to hone in a game plan, and others it is just a nuisance. Keep in mind, battlegrounds is still just in beta (it’s not even a finished game). I also understand you can buy the tavern pass with gold; but for those F2P players who still enjoy ranked play, you can get 25 packs with that gold.
Personally I seem to enjoy battlegrounds a bit more than ranked play. It seems more fresh and more fun. I think I would utilize the tavern pass if battlegrounds had more of a reward system with game play. In my honest opinion it seems a bit cruel to sell the same thing over and over every expansion. I personally would prefer to see a one time payment thing for the battlegrounds perks than to have my BG benefits revoked and offered to me every expansion. Or maybe even making battlegrounds its own game.

You should get access to the BG perks after buying a certain number of packs in the main game (equivalent to the $20 option in the packs section, maybe). Packs bought with gold count.

There shouldn’t be a cost at all until BGs are out of the beta; just give everyone the perks until that happens, and then go with #1.

Not worth. Until we get bg quests and ranked rewards, don’t feed them

20 bucks or 2500 gold for a gamemode within a game i find ridiculous.
Battlegrounds is nothing special and just a fun mode on the side like arena.
When they apply barriers like this with reduced choices to make it look like they will gain incredible extra content ( 2 extra hero, emotes, statistics ) seems to greedy because of the content that it represents.
To the ‘‘BETA’’ label, battlegrounds is not in beta mode, they only labeled it that way so people would know it was not the final version and battlegrounds will never have a final version, it will always be experimented with to the edge of the capabilities of the unity engine.
I never would spend money or that amount of in game gold to just another mini game.
Not until they balance battlegrounds.
Originally and with dragons? Yes. With pirates and cannonmeta, no, the game is terrible at the moment. You either highroll, get knocked out in the midgame due to a “balanced” hit by a pirate build for 30 damage, or you get knocked out early because 7-8 place faces 1-2 every time. No, maybe for gold, but do not give blizzard money.
I personally found it very insulting given that I already pre-ordered the expansion. Other than not being worth it outright, its the sense creeping in of an endless extortion to pay more and more which normally is a reason that makes us keep clear from any game on mobile.
