I think the tavern pass was a good addition to the game and works fine for what it is. My problem would be the paid one. I know the game is greedy and such but a few skins and a few cards does not seem worth it. You get one skin and then for another like ten levels nothing out of the paid pass. Why don’t they put gold or something between the skins to make it seem like you get more bang for your buck. Not only that more people would most likely buy it if more was added to the paid track.
You gain more gold, thanks to the exp bonus
but that’s it just some more xp why not with that add more stuff on the top level.
And the diamont card, Drekthar cost 3000 gold, to the pass give You 3000 gold je
the best thing of the pass is getting a legendary card that it’s usually playable (finley in this case).
Then there is also a gold bonus thanks to the xp bonus.
Is it worth 20$? For me, no, but if someone likes skins and would spend 7$ for a single skin, then it’s probably worth it even without the xp bonus or the free legendary.
fair point I always look at all the empty spots and think there should just be more wishful thinking I guess
There should be, especially with all the players pointing out the rewards for modes they don’t play (and having rewards for all three at each point would be a fair option). Considering how expensive they are making everything, actually having more rewards in the paid version then currently offered makes sense. An XP boost just to get through the track faster, combined with rewards for modes that players don’t use, isn’t an incentive.
All to rush to the end of 50 gold/level until the next xpac.
Giving more packs and gold isn’t going to hurt: it’s digital. It’s not like they have to print more cards!
And before someone tells me how some poor actiblizz people will go hungry: the mutibillion dollar company will do just fine. Just like it (and every other mega corp) did while literally everyone was struggling to get by during the last couple years. With an obligitory message now and then on the level of celbrities singing “imagine” to tell us how much they understand what we’re going through…when they bother to look down on the common folk and acknowledge they exist at all.
I thought it was pretty great when I was getting it free with my wow sub and since I play mercenaries. once I stopped getting it for free I looked at it and thought ‘there’s no way in the world that is worth $20 dollars to me, not even close.’
it is quite sad could of been better but they went woke
Paid tavern pass is calculated by taking ALL the extra rewards into account.
That is, you spend the $20 to get 12 skins, 8 BG skins, some diamond and golden= cards.
To be frankly, it is worth it if you would consider buying these rewards separately.
The paid tavern pass does not offer equal value to everybody. It’s difficult to express all the cosmetics in value, but there’s a cut-off point where the bonus experience gained exceeds the price you would’ve spent on a similar amount of packs. Indirectly, gold is offered up until you hit level 400.
This is the first tavern pass where each hero received a skin rather than a couple for a few of the heroes which might be a hit or miss depending if you main certain classes or play a wider selection.
When not paying for the tavern pass you don’t miss out on too much which is fine as it’s tailored to a specific audience.
As pureMJ brought up, these cosmetics would have a different pricetag were they to be sold individually. (*cough*, diamond Drek’thar)
If I could, I’d buy the tavern pass with gold.
you have to get far along the track to make it worthwhile - but when you finish the track, it would be worth it. betting on your completing quests to earn back the cost of gold - and more.
Someone did the math early on and if you only look at the gold you earn (ignoring all the cosmetics) if you hit level 180ish without the bonus XP, it would offer the same value as if you’d spent the money on packs.
On the other hand, if you play so much that you hit the level cap (400) without the bonus XP, it offers you nothing except the cosmetics.
So if you want to spend money and you hit level 180ish to 350ish each expansion without the paid track, it’s worth it in comparison to buying packs. Otherwise it’s only for the cosmetics.
