Taunt needs changing

I feel taunt should be given to any minion by paying life of player or minion for the affect.

Currently taunt and rng just doesn’t mix due to timing, this would be the best way to reduce aggro.

All minions with taunt should be changed to grapple forcing the grappled to kill it’s grappler. Reducing face damage and bring more control deck back into play.

This change wouldn’t affect spells that summon taunt minions.
GRAPPLE comes into affect once the minion is in play.

The only downfall is game time might take longer.

The best way to reduce aggro is for the decks that target agro to actually be matched vs aggro instead of control or combo decks xD.

1 mana 1/1 Lifesteal, summon 2 copy of this minion, whenever opponent play a minion attack it, can’t attack(only the effect permit them to attack)
2 mana 2/4…whenever opponent play a minion, fight it to the death

something like these ?(thats as balanced as i can come with for that)

the 1 that cost 1 cant be used to go face neither attack minions that were played b4 it…3/3 of stats is huge for 1 mana but it has a small drawback in xchange for the stats

EDIT; actually a 1 drop summoning 2 copies would be probably broken in evolve shaman XD

The real truth is aggro decks are no longer punished with card draw. They can also copy minions and keep the pressure up.

However taunt is currently a dead mechanic in the current meta. If all minions had to take 2 Damage to gain taunt. While changing taunt minions to grapple. Yes health reduction will weaken your minions but also will reduce the amount of face damage received.

minion loosing health to gain taunt would actually make it much worse

ppl will simply use something weak to poke it dead if their(your taunt minions) health get reduce

however there an alternative i may suggest

“2-3 mana taunt minion…if this minion is attacked by a weapon or spell gain +3 health, if a secret trigger gain +2 health”

1/4 if 2 mana
2/5 stated if 3 mana

thats about the only other method to actually make low cost taunt minions more sticky (with stats lower than 5 cost) which wont be immediatly dead to a removal or battlecry + 1 dmg poke

third option…play more 1 drop to fight for early board

The only way for a minion to gain taunt in the game is via another minions effect or a spell effect. Any minion being able to get taunt at any time for no reason makes no sense in the current game. And such an effect would cost so much mana that you’d die before you can get enough taunt to survive. I really don’t see a way for your idea to be implemented.

Maybe in a future expansion a mechanic featuring your idea may appear, but it will probably by applied in a way that won’t really help with hyper aggro decks (will be too slow, or bring too little stats)
