Actually a serious suggestion. Here are my thoughts.
By remove mechs:
- Amalgam, you either get divine shield or you don’t, no longer able to add it later;
- Jaundice no longer has a stupid advantage with Pogo;
Mechs and Pirates:
- They are utterly pointless in the game right now.
I think 1 and 2 are pretty simple, but 3?
They are pointless, you cannot scale Mechs or Pirates to match Elemental.
Honestly, I think that you beat the best Mech deck you could get, at the end, 1 - 1 by selling all but 2 cards as elemental. The HP scaling of this tribe is off the charts, seeing 4 or 5 minions at the end with 150hp.
The HP on a the Tier 2 elemental taunt alone, could likely solo a really top end Mech deck.
The only deck that matches Elemental right now is poison murlocs and amalgam’s with poison.
Since you cannot give Pirates or Mech’s poison both are essentially dead unless you can survive to Turn 6 and pivot to a different type of deck…which begs the question why bother with them in the first place?

Maybe give it more than two days before we start claiming that the sky is falling with the new patch?

Why? Do you think mechs are magically going to be able to gain 100atk in two days without blizzard doing something?
What are you waiting for exactly? The only thing that can happen is a change, and the only way a change will happen is if blizzard are informed as to the state of play.
The state of play is clear, Elementals’ scaling is so far ahead of Pirates and Mechs as to negate their very existence.
So remove Mechs just because Jandice is OP? Why not just nerf Jandice then? Mechs and Pogos used to be completely fine before Jandice.
As for Pirates, they need a protection against poison. Its really stupid that they get completely soloed by 1 or 2 amalgadons. They need a card like: Doctor Buccaneer: 4 star 5/7 Your Pirates ignore poison.
There is one little problem with this though. Amalgadon is also a pirate, so people will be able to abuse this with Amalgadons. So maybe something like, If you have 5 or more Pirates, your pirates ignore poison.
No Devilseye, that is why I listed 3 points…
Remove mechs because they are pointless. They cannot compete. They cannot generate the attack to kill elementals or murlocs and they cannot gain poison except off a T6 minion.
As a tribe they are dead.
The game goes like this every time, because of poor testing by Blizzard, they didn’t think that being able to create minions with 80+ atk windfury and divine shield, and taunt minions with 100hp+ might be a problem? Might mean that the ONLY answer is poison?
I barely play the game and if someone told me that this was going to be introduced, I would have asked if anyone had actually thought about it.
Mechs are good for one thing right now:
No competition for them.
You’re not going to get 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd place (okay, maybe 3rd) with Mechs, but you could possibly knock out players struggling to compete with each other for Elementals, allowing you to get 4th place.
Or you could play Rag, he ‘might’ be able to grow a mech large enough to kill an elemental…but yeah, playing for 3rd place isn’t really fun
doesnt take that long to figure things out
jandice was always easy to beat with poison
After the addition of Elementals the Pirates, Mechs and Demons are totaly useless. Only Jandice have any use of Mechs now. The other two tribes can just be deleted. Elementals even beat Poison murlocs with their galactic stats thanks to Nomi and Lil’rag. The cleave elemental and the Windfury elemental destroy poison murlocs with little trouble. You only lose if your guys hit plants from a Amalgadon and lose DS or waste the Cleave.
How are they pointless? I got 1st places with bomb builds on 10k mmr (before reset) plus mechs are insane if you want to get top 4, which a lot of players aim for in high MMR. Pirates are way worse than mechs.
I dont think you understand the real problem with Jandice. The problem is not how you are going to kill the pogo in the late game. The problem is that since getting 1 pogo on tavern 2 gives Jandice insane scalling she just levels every turn without taking any damage and she can transition into any build in the late game while also having a giant pogo without any real drawback.
Devilseye,
Your one anecdotal example does not trump mathematics.
So what if you played a game against a bunch of people that got unlucky or couldn’t play before reset.
How are bombs going to beat the game I just won with Elementals, where I had 2 minions with over 150hp each, plus a cleave with 50atk, and windfury minion, with mega-windfury with another 50atk and divine shield?
Even if you had triple Baron, with 6 triple bombs all with divine shield…
You wouldn’t even make a dent in one of those 150hp minions, and I had two. and 5 other elementals all of pretty high stats…
Even my lil’Rag was a 70/70.
Mechs are not late game builds. Not every build is supposed to be late game. And you can kill any big minion since Amalgadons exist. You are insanely biased if you think mechs are the worst tribe in BG right now.

Or maybe stop releasing stupidly op heroes and nerf elementals ?
If you need longer than one game vs elementals to know that blizzard are brain-dead at balancing your low iq
Worst suggestion ever…
They just need to nerf Jandice.
Various minion types are what make the Battlegrounds interesting.
Well having minion types that cannot compete is hardly interesting.
I mean, if that is your idea of interesting Blaznavac, then just buy a minion, then immediately sell it and get hit in the face with an empty board…same effect…
Im not sure I agree with Pirates and Mechs leaving…I love the Kaboom/Macaw/Rivendare team…when I can make it work, and Pirates were going strong until elementals came along, which makes me think the elementals countering them hard is the only reason they seem so lackluster now.
That being said… the card pool has gotten so diluted that RNG has become a bigger factor than strategy in my opinion. Ive been slaughtered in so many matches simply because whatever I was building suddenly dried up. There are just too many cards making it difficult to farm what you need.
I think Demons and Beasts need to be removed though. Both of them are struggling as well…and neither of them have any good heroes attached to them. I think they should be taken out, have some reworking done, and come back in a while with some new heroes that can make better use of them.
I also feel that mechs and pirates could use a new card or two to make them more competitive though. Mechs need more magnets that buff them and make them useful… and pirates need some protection against poison, and/or having their Ripsnarl and Eliza removed before they can get any of their cards buffed.
Yeah I was debating whether to add Demons and Beasts (I maybe mentioned beasts, can’t be bothered to go back now).
I think Elementals are completely broken, love playing them when it goes right, saw a 600hp Taunt elemental on Kripps stream recently that was funny.
But it is a bit stupid at the moment, between Nomi and Lil’Rag the sheer size that you can get to in very short time period, makes it dominate everything else in the game by such a large margin…I mean Kripp calls his stream Give Elemental or Lil’Rag waiting room, because if you get it you win.
Of course, as you say, with so many cards you can spend 10 gold and not get a single Elemental, which is frustrating and can lead to a loss, but that is the same for every tribe and every build.
