Star System Changes

With the broadening of the star system, the reward system should be changed as well.

There’s wayyyy too many people who play extremely aggressive decks that are designed to win by turn 4 or 5 (aggro decks.)

That’s fine, they’re part of the game, but these people typically just quit if you’re able to survive until turn 6 or 7.

They shouldn’t be compensated by a deck that takes a lot of buildup, or someone who is just able to protect themselves and outplay them.

If someone wins by turn 3 or 4, they should only get 1 star, turns 6-9 should be 2 stars, and turns 10+ should count as 3 stars. People who spend more time in games should be rewarded accordingly.

A win is still a win, the ranking system should not care how you did it

And I bet, some people would concede earlier, so their opponent would only get one star.

so what you want is playing control warrior and jumping from rank 25 to legend top 10 after one game?

No. It penalizes disconnects, people who have to concede because of RL stuff (dog needs to go out, baby crying, dinner is ready), and it would be tough to code.

Also, why so intent on “punishing” people who do things you don’t like? Shrug and move on; life’s to short for that sort of thing.

That’s not a bad point. It’d be interesting how blizz could reward those that don’t just quit when they didn’t get their perfect lineup.

Would you rather spend 4 turns trying to get a win or 20+ minutes?

Gilbz what are your thoughts on Deathstalker Rexxar in wild with infinite beasts? How many stars would you award for playing face hunter with Rexxar making it to turn 10+… three stars according to your system.

Maybe a time based instead of then reward system, it just seems like the game is very turned based.

It just seems like you either play someone that wins on turn 6 or prior, or quits, all the time. That’s it. That’s all they do. If you play a late game deck, you don’t even get to play if your anti-aggro cards work out.

What if people just BM knowing their opponent can’t do anything for turns?
