Standard packs don't contain new cards?

So I see I can open my Emerald Dream packs now and I swear at least last expansion that it seemed when I started with my standard packs first to try and get the max amount of last xpac’s cards that they did in fact give me Dark Beyond cards. Now I have opened my class specific packs with no new cards and 1 standard pack just to test it and there were no new cards in those either.

Am I smoking crack or do we not get new cards from standard packs?

Edit: Not sure yet about opening packs, but so this xpac I can open the packs, but I can’t do anything with the cards? Wow, awesome Blizz. Thanks so much. Yes that’s sarcasm. Like what’s the point?

Emerald Dream hasn’t launched yet, that’s next week.

Two mistakes here. One the rotation is not done yet so you’re getting 2023 cards unnecessarily. Two what Raiden said which I didn’t even consider.

New cards won’t be in the standard packs until the expansion officially releases on the 25th (usually around 10am PST).

You can open packs early right now because of their brawl event.
